I am looking for power windows for my 68 Skylark convertible. They need to be complete for all 4 windows including the wiring harnesses and the boots that go between the pillar and door. Any help out there?
Hey guys I still need the power windows. I also need a new wiper/washer switch for a 68 Skylark Any help????
Just wanted to let you know, 1968 is a one year only set-up for the doors. You can use the rear regulators from 68-72 A-body such as Cutlass, Chevelle, Skylark, LeMans. Also, 69-72 Grand Prix and 70-2 Monte Carlo will also work. So, basically, you can use the entire 69-72 set-up except for the door regulators due to the vent window in 1968 models. :TU:
Yes, 70-2 post coupe would work. My experience has been the post-coupe models were the cheapest cars built and I have never found one A-body post-coupe w/pw.
Here is an interesting one for you George; I just picked up a '71 Skylark (base model) Post 2 door with every option you could order (well, almost). PW, PL, Disc Brakes, Posi, Power bench, AM/FM, Cruise, Tilt, AC and rear defrost. I guess this car would be pretty rare? The car will be posted on the board here in a couple weeks for sale.:TU:
WOW! That car is loaded! Never heard of or seen one such as yours. Most of the ones I have found or seen in salvage yards here in FL are so "cheap" they don't have carpet or rear armrests. They don't even have the stainless drip rail trim!
It is interesting that you bring that up, because quite honestly I had not noticed the rear armrests before. It does not have them. Same for the drip rail molding. However, it does have carpet. One quick question, was it possible to get such a car without rear seatbelts? Mine may be hiding under the seat, but I have not found them yet. BTW, the car has poverty caps. :Brow:
I think seatbelts were mandated by federal law in 1965. Not sure on year. So, your car should have them. Look under back seat bottom cushion. If there belts are missing and the anchors holes are there, someone took them out.
Thanks George. Thats good info. I knew that 68 was the only year because of the windwing, however I did not know about the 69's you mentioned and the post cars. These are tough to find so this may open some new avenues for me
This is a shot in the dark, but we had a 68 skylark 4-door hardtop parts car not too long ago, and it had P/W. I don't know if 4-door stuff will work. (better ask George again) Don't know if my dad saved all the P/W parts or not. The car is gone, but I will look for that stuff today. This might offer some help?? o No: -Kevin
