Selling my 4-speed manual GS400-4 that was ordered new by my uncle. VIN 68-44637FL1 221996.

All original (if you need numbers matching photos, I’ll need to know casting marking locations). The dealer Order Sheet with option codes and the dataplate are on picture #1.

My job of last 4 years requires extensive international travel, and even if I had the time, now I don’t have the space. Posting here before putting on classic car sites later this summer.

Asking $ 3,800. Location= Miramar FL (west of Ft. Lauderdale).

26,387 miles, last on road in 1994. Surface cancer/rust as can be seen, but no through holes or bubbling has been found so far during disassembly. Car was undercoated early on.

Missing: Radiator, and both front inner fender wells.

New and re-worked parts: new air conditioner compressor retrofit bracket from V8Buick member, new fuel tank & level sensor, rebuilt air cleaner assy, re-chromed hood/trunk trim pieces and fender louvers (insert painting not done yet), various brackets and widgets repainted and wrapped for storage. Started the battery tray patch-plate on rad support, but needs better weld than my neighbor did.

Also goes with car: YearOne repro factory service manual and wiring diagrams, wheel skates with upgraded rollers, Summit engine lift plate, rolling engine stand.

After experimenting I think bumpers, door handles, mirror will need chrome. Chrome on the rims appears salvageable. Since moving to FL I have been spraying some corrosion hot spots like cowl area and rims with Corrosion-X spray.

    Gary,

My Grandfather purchased a 1968 Skylark new at Massey Buick.

    Good luck with the sale.

Bright red, 4 speed, posi, rally suspension, no A/C, and radials. Very cool!! I’d say ‘good luck’ but it looks like you have enough buyers for four or five of them.

sold to the guy with matching name!

Visiting my grandparents and walking up West Liberty Avenue was always fun with all the 50's era dealer buildings with the showrooms right up next to the sidewalk. And of course the AB Charles & Sons hobby shop with giant slot car racetrack in basement and Lionel trains everywhere, good stuff....

Okay, rotted battery area -- no indicator of mileage, this is more a time-taking-its-toll kind of issue.

Kinda like the less-than-perfect chrome -- salt air down here will do that.

But at 27k miles, why is the whole front end off the car? Collision? Or just resto?

Engine been out? Or just on the verge of being pulled?

Regardless, nice car going to a good home. Congrats.
