My 68 has the little heat riser flap donut thing between the manifold and the down pipe. Years ago it was stuck semi closed so I removed it and cut the flap away but left the shaft thru it. I now have an exhaust leak at that shaft. Is there a reccomended spacer to take place of this thing? I haven't been able to find anything. Or is the only fix to weld the hole up? Any one else done this with some successful ideas?

I've taken the shaft out, drilled and tapped the holes for 1/8" pipe plugs. or whatever is handy :)

Hector made spacers, but they sold out with no re-order.
Hi Heat JB Weld may seal it too - it worked on a 430 manifold leak for me - 30 days and still holding !! :TU:

I ended up taking a short bolt that fit in the hole and horribly welded it in. Looks bad, works good.
