I've seen several write ups on install. Everyone had to trim sides slightly to drop into drip rail and the upper windshield channel radius needs some shaping. So check trim fit before welding. All the reviews have been positive other than that. Grand prix and monte carlo just splice in the sail panel area as it is different from a body.

Sounds good, thanks 69a-body. Do you remember where you read it? I'd like to read about someone else's experience before I start into it.

Joe Vega, aka www.azchevs.com, may still have a roof structure from the Arizona car he was cutting up. It was a '69 Skylark coupe. If you wish to go the original metal route. IMHO, summit is hurting themselves by referring to "fastback" in their ad. None of the 68 - 72 GM A cars were ever termed "fastbacks", they were hardtops, posts, or convertibles. It makes one think of Ford.

Just google "chevelle roof skin replacement" several hits. Team chevelle , youtube, and monte carlo come up. The squirrley comment about fastback is because the only exception afaik is the formal roof on the 70-72 olds. Here is a pic of the difference on a monte carlo. IMG_7604.jpg

im not even close to a body man . cut the roof of a parts car and put it on the keeper . very happy with the results . if ever again would be close to nice!. made my cuts around the bottom of the rear/side windows .left frnt /rear glass channels on doner top . vinle top gone real bad. left orig. gtters/ supports/frame . anyway glued the top on both sides made it much cleaner / easier than welding could have been imo . glue gave 30 minute window to second guess it ALL. welded frnt/back quarters . lot of work , for sure!!!
