George new ones are available on Ebay for 150.00 without filler neck. i can get them locally with filler neck for 180.00. the canadian made ones are the only versions worth a fart.. the other version is junk and comes painted black
I am aware that they repro the tanks but the vent holes are incorrect for 67 or else i`d get one in a heart beat. Thanks
George, I am in the same boat, I need a 67 fuel tank. Mine has two vent pipes coming out. Seems the only option are 1 vent pipe and no vent pipe. Any issues with using either other than not original setup? Also, anyone know if the 66-67 chevelle tanks would work? Last question, sorry to jack the thread. My sending unit has two lines one big and one small, yet all the repro units only have a single line. Does this seem correct?
Yea 67`s have the 2 vent pipes stickin out at the rear of the car/tank,i`m not sure if there would be any issues if 1 or none vents but the one i pulled out of mine didnt have any vents but the tanks is freakin mint i wish it had the vents,i just want whats correct in there,as for the sending unit yes all repro`s do have 1 line because they dont have the return line like our originals. George- I have the one out of my 67 project car now. As long as Buying the one on E-bay will work (single vent line) for me you can have it for the price of that one. This way I get a gas tank, and you get the right one - Fair enough??o No: .- Anthony
I replaced mine with the single vent and with a 430 and return line and I am having issues with the tank surging and puking gas out the vent. I did replace the cap with a vented one, but haven't driven the car since then to see if that fixed it. Does anyone know if the GS cars came with a vented cap? I am thinking if this doesn't fix it I will just take the old one and have someone take the old vent pipes and have them added to a new tank. Clyde

Clyde thats probably a venting issue,the 65-67 GS`s didnt have a vented cap,which tank did you purchase exactly?how is it now with the vented cap? Thanks
I got the one they are referencing earlier on the thread. Its the canadian with on vent. I had the filler neck moved. I replaced the sending unit with the one from the parts place and added the larger fuel lines. It has been baffling me for awhile. It would leak out the vent hose when backing off the trailer which is the only time I have seen it. Most other times it's a stain on the floor but I can trace the flow of removed undercoat off the frame to the vent tube. I made sure the hose was mounted to the bottom of the trunk floor at the highest place I could get and it still leaked just this time on the rearend which better than the exhaust. Unfortunately, I have not had the car out yet since the I got the new cap, but I will let you know(should have good weather this weekend). I just have to make the assumption either my pump is bypassing way to much or they added two vents to that tank design for a very good reason or I guess the new tank has horrible placement of the vent pipe itself inside the tank. Luckily I saved all the vent tubes from the scrap tank and will just have them placed in if it continues.
Hmm thats weird!the parts place sending unit has the stock 3/8 line?please let me know what happens when you take it out this weekend,i`m troubled myself. Thanks
Don't use a vented cap, gas will puke out all over the road when you take off fast.! I'm in the same boat as you guys, need 4 of them, all my tanks are junk.
Hey guys I have a 67 skylark i'm parting out everthing very cheap and yes i'm all the way in the west coast. Motor and tranny gone no seats or bumpers but rest their. Just let me know what you need.
