Just trying to get a feel for what kind of "fan base" the 67 Skylark and/or GS has out there. I can't help but feel like a minority with my 67's even in a Buick only forum.

From my experience, there's a few parts that are in very high demand (but I doubt there's enough interest to wet any mfgr's appetites)

Off the top of my head...

    -Rear quarters
    -GS grills
-Hood Scoops (or at least the chrome inserts)
    -Floor console and related parts
    -Tach for the floor console
    -Rear wheel well chrome trim

I figure if there's any place in the world to start this conversation, it would be right here!
So how many people would even be interested in any of these?

    BUQUICK I'm your huckleberry.

I've been gathering parts for several years so I can restore my '67 after we finish my GTO. I never realized how few parts are out there for '67s. I got lucky and found NOS headlight bezels and grille. I now have most everything else I need to restore my car except I would love to have some NOS 1/4 panels even if they were for a hardtop. I did find a set recently but I wasn't in a position to spend 2K + shipping at the time, I'm sure he already sold them by now. I would also like to have some perfect door panel emblems and i need to find a repairable steering wheel mine has already been repaired once (15 years ago) and is cracked again.

I looked for '67 parts at the GS Nats last weekend and there just wasn't much there, nothing NOS and only a few used grilles (expensive) and a few pieces of trim.

while were all talking about 67's ive got a strange question. the vent window on my 67 gs interferes with my rear view mirror on the drivers side door, meaning that i cant open the window fully. does anyone else have this problem. i also have a 67 skylark 4 dr and they do have different size vent window glass, the gs has a larger "right" triangle. and they appear to have the same mirrors. is it possible that i have the wrong mirror or is this a common problem. :Do No:

you might have the wrong mirror, someone might`ve installed it in the wrong place.

    Thanks

    Rick,

I've got a 67 GS and a 67 Skylark Convertible. IMHO, the 67 was the best looking body style (but that's why I own a couple). The straight lines, angle cut back rear glass, and the pointed speed racer Mach 5 looking hood with stellar looking grille are AWESOME. The only things I am working on currently for these cars are the rear tail light bezels and rear trunk spears in polished aluminum. Lighter, won't rust, and NOT POTMETAL CRAP. Looks wise, they will be very similar to the chromed potmetal versions. Right now, I am awaiting feedback on the costs for making these pieces.

Console and tach pieces would be nice, but very doubtful that anything will be done on them by anyone. Heck, its doubtful that the tail light bezels will sell and I've seen very few cars that don't need them. I've got about 7 sets of the potmetal versions and they are all CRAP. Quotes to have them refinished start at $150 PER SIDE and $200 for the trunk piece.

I may have to consider the metal hood scoops also. Larry Miller of the Carolina chapter makes the lined inserts for these, but not the actual chromed potmetal piece on the front of the scoops.

Quarters or even patch panels would be nice. Patch kits for the core support also would be nice (Hello MIKE GARRISON?). I can't remember seeing but 1 nice, unrusted core support in all of the cars I 've ever found.

As you lamented, its too bad the 67 cars don't have a great interest and following. I can't drive mine without looks galore. Of course, the lookers piss me off when the first words out of their mouth are "NICE GTO"!

    Gary,

I've still got those 2 rear 4 door quarter pieces if you are interested. My price is rather affordable at $250 for the pair. Yes, they are 4 door lower quarters, but surely they are useful. I've got them trimmed out for easy shipping. TOTALLY rust free. VERY NICE. Let me know if you are interested at all.

My '67 GS is my first Buick that I have restored. Luckily it was in really good shape from a sheetmetal standpoint when I bought the car. I continue experience the frustration of finding simple parts for the car. I would like to add front door arm rests and mounts to the growing list of parts that I would like to see in repro.

The '67 is the most unique of all GS Skylarks and is certainly a head turner when people see it. Add my name to the list of supporters for repro parts! :)

I would love to find some sort of quater panel patches or a quarter panel itself mine was wrecked and i needed a drver side quater. i went to my friend at a local junck yard and had him look up stuff on thier computer that is connected to many junkyards all over the u.s. We found a couple but either they were not in the condision that they described or they wanted an arm and a leg for it.
I would also like to see the stainless wheel moldings for the wheel weels for a GS. I imagine i could think of hundreds of other parts i would like to see made. The 67 is getting some atention because ertil came out with a die cast 1:18 scale car.

I want to add my vote for quarters or lower rear patch panels. The trunk floor to quarter "down turns" would also be nice. How do we get this started?

I'LL ADD MY VOTE TO THE TAIL LIGHT BEZELS AND THE 16" ARMREST PADS! THE TAIL LIGHT BEZELS ALONG WITH THE 16" ARM REST PADS HAVE TO BE THE 2 MOST NEEDED ITEMS FOR THAT YEAR NOT CURRENTLY BEING REPRODUCED. I ALSO COULD USE A SET OF DOOR PANEL EMBLEMS, AS MINE HAVE THE TYPICAL FINE CRACKING IN THEM.

Add my name to the list!!!

I'd buy the grill and taillight bezels to start with and the rest later. But after reading this thread I noticed no one mentioned reproducing the Star Wars air cleaner. If someone could make a nice mold and start making them, I bet they would clean up $$$.
I'd be one of the first in line to buy one!! They could even make them from cast aluminum, ABS plastic, fiberglass, etc... This includes the base and knob.

Makes me want to go learn how to make these things and buy the equipment myself and go into business.... hmmm....:Brow:

Good luck making it out of aluminum. Personally i dont think a part like that should be reproduced. A one year only piece as uniquely designed as that deserves the exclusivity that comes with it. The going prices seem fair. Now if we were talking a one year only coolant bottle, thatd be another story. Can you try making 67 quarters instead :)

I have to say that there arent many parts out there for 67 models. I just bought a 4 door model with 1000o miles on it. Thinking it was a good deal I bought it, but now i realize I cant get the parts I need.

what are you looking for. i also have a 67 skylark 340-4 4 door hardtop. not in the best shape but its all original and all there. besides quarters, which are impossible to find, and the engine, everthing else is pretty straight forward, oh and the horn relay, i had a bear of a time finding one. but the carb, trans, accessories, suspensions, interior are available one place or another.
