Summit has upper/lower PROTHANE poly bushing kit (8) for '65-'70 Rivieras (PTP-7-225 - black or red) at $75. :TU:
I had replaced all of the bushings, front and rear, with polygraphite on my '67 GTO (PST up front, and Hotchkis in back). After that the car creaked, and squeaked ALL the time. If I had to do it over again I would have went with rubber. Every little irregularity in the road, squeak, squeak. You always knew when the suspension was flexing! Look how long the originals last! Unless you are seriously looking at setting your car up for some serious cornering I would go with stock replacements.
Nailhead, Could you post up some pics of those control arms. I would like to see before I buy if it is not too much trouble. Also if you could get a shipping quote to zip 97124 I would appreciate it.
Good that you are inspecting and changing fluids. With the bent control arms, the rear banjo is misaligned and the driveshaft=I hope it hasn't been driven too far since. I would also pull the driveshaft and inspect/lube. You need to have a shop manual as there is much specific info on this and the car in general-good luck
I need a little help here. "Rear Banjo" I don't know what you are talking about. I don't have any idea how long they have been bent. It has at least 1,000 miles on it that way. What would it of hurt being driven that way, except for going down the road a little crooked? on edit: I do have a 1967 buick Chassis Service Manual. It just doesn't give me all the tips you guys do. I will use it for instructions to install and torque everything.
How about aftermarket arms? A friend of mine sent me this link, but I don't think they are the correct ones. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=EDL-5205&view=1&N=700+15 www.edelbrock.com/automotive/suspension.html on edit: Never mind these are for A-Body GM cars
PM me with an email address and I will send pix--I don't have the patience to try to post pix. John :beer
Thanks for the control arms. :beers2: My project will be in the works again. It's been a long spring so far doing house projects. Now that the weather is getting nice I need to get some things fixed.
