I have asked about the difference between the driver side and passenger side mirrors for a 67. The upshot that I took from the responses was that there was no difference. If this IS true, then the search gets much simpler.
To verify, there is only one non-remote mirror and it works on either side. Group # 10.185 Part # 981257
I was curious so looked at OPGI parts, the mirror they show is not the correct on for 67 even though they have it listed as such https://www.opgi.com/skylark/S230152/
Don't want to pay opg prices. Plus all there mirrors of that style like one on my 67 chevelle keep pitching downwards fom vibration. Just want one i can clean up and be presentable. Still looking, show me what you have Thanks.....Dennis
So what does the correct '67 mirror look like? The shot below is for a Skylark from a '67 full line brochure. If you look below the crook of her elbow (it's helpful that she posed that way because it sure looks uncomfortable) it sure looks like a round tri-shield mirror to me.
The picture you posted is drawn artwork done prior to the 67’s ever being released, the woman was not even in the original drawing, she was added I own the black & white original presentation art piece that would have been used by Buick That I bought from the estate I have a Buick executive of the time. It is common for there to be many discrepancies in pictures found in brochures, postcards, etc. In many cases if the body style hadn’t changed much, they were just altered and reworked pictures from the year before.
A regular mirror in 67 set you back a blistering $4.50 and took about 5 minutes to install. They were obviously selling or assuming dealers were selling the mirrors for both right and left as the remote mirror states (For left side only). The remote mirror was $12.30, part number 981016 and was used for 1964-1967. The manual mirror as I stated above was part number 981257 and is listed for 1967 only
Oldbuickparts has 2 listed but I don't see the difference.. 61-63 http://www.oldbuickparts.com/product_info.php?cPath=22_453_503&products_id=8783 64-67http://www.oldbuickparts.com/product_info.php?cPath=22_453_503&products_id=8782
You will find the parts places want to sell the one they have so they overlist it for years. I have fought with CARS on various occasions over the years on what they claim is authentic and correct and what actually is authentic and correct. They do us a favor by having parts, but they do the hobby a disfavor by taking away details and authenticity
The only difference between the prior and 67 is the prior to 67 shape has more of a pronounced check mark base the 67 rounds that check mark out to be not as sharp
