This car was for sale a while back and its a tag job so be carefull,it does not have the box frame and the rivits on the body were incorrect, also notice the skylark body moldings, not how he doesnt list the VIN # . http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2484602575&category=6144
and more on top of that the 1014 figure is for the 2 door post GS's while 10659 Hardtop GS 400's built - he can't even get that right:spank:
now that you mentioned post cars i think thats what caught my attention at the time, the VIN # was 44607 rather than 44617. Thanks
I would define misrepresented as saying things like, "this is an all original numbers matching GS". Add may be misleading to someone who is not familiar with eBay or '67 Buicks. It is what it is and it's crystal clear to me that it is not a GS. I wouldn't even bother asking about it given the info in the add.
Buy it to drive and enjoy it and you wouldn't be disappointed. Purchase it as an investment and you might be sorry... John
Has anyone contacted the seller to ask for the vin number? If it is not a true GS than the auction should be either stopped or changed. The only problem with trying to do something about it is that eBay customer service sucks:spank: . If you call the eBay customer service number you get India ou: You have to do everything through emails or live help online. Jerseysky66 Bob
I contacted eBay about the auction. They have the worst customer service ever :moonu: . Here is a copy of the live chat I had; Your chat session started. Thomas S.: Welcome, thank you for choosing eBay Live Help. My name is Thomas, what can I help you with today? ssnovamaniac: I was looking at auction 2484602575. The person is calling the car a gs skylark. I was on the V8 Buick site asking questions about the car. One member said he contacted the seller at an earlier time and the seller gave him the vin number. The vin number does not match his description. He needs to correct his description. ssnovamaniac: what can be done? Thomas S.: Ok, have you tried to contact the seller to let them know? ssnovamaniac: No, because the Buick member has contacted him when he had this up the last time. I am not going to do that. Thomas S.: If they are misrepresenting the item you can also report them to Safe Harbor. Thomas S.: To contact our Safe Harbor specialists, please use the following link so that we may further assist you. http://pages.ebay.com/help/contact_inline/index.html ssnovamaniac: I don't understand why you can't help me Thomas S.: What do you want me to do? ssnovamaniac: what you wanted me to do in the link Thomas S.: Ok, I can't report items to eBay, they need to come from the users. Thomas S.: They will investigate and take action. ssnovamaniac: I still don't understand. You work for eBay not me ssnovamaniac: I have the link open where do I start Thomas S.: ok Thomas S.: let me see here Thomas S.: ok report a listing policy violation ssnovamaniac: than which one Thomas S.: then fraudulent listings Thomas S.: than report a listing you think is fraudulent Thomas S.: then continue ssnovamaniac: It's not working. The page won't open Thomas S.: then click on the Email link Thomas S.: http://pages.ebay.com/help/contact_...policy+violation+or+prohibited+(banned)+item# Thomas S.: or use that link Thomas S.: Is there anything else that I can help you with while you're here? ssnovamaniac: with this type of customer service. I think I am better just giving up. Thanks Thomas S.: You're welcome. Thomas S.: Thank you for using eBay live help. Have a nice day. ssnovamaniac: you too thanks Thomas S.: But just to let you know, Thomas S.: We can't make changes to anyone's auctions Thomas S.: And all reports have to come from customers Thomas S.: So, sorry about that. ssnovamaniac: eBay saves money with this type of customer service Thomas S.: Not sure of the reasons, but that is possible. Sorry you are so frustrated. Thomas S.: Good luck with your auctions. The agent ended your chat session. I had to send an email somewhere else. Lets see if they make him change it or if the take it off. I bet they do nothing:sleep: Jerseysky66
Ebay Safe harbour is a joke. I had one run-in about a fraudulent watch seller, and was warned after I had bid. It turned out ebay hadn't done anything, except suspend the guy who tried to warn me. I sent them another note telling them of my disappointment with them, and Hadji sent back some glib response. Caveat emptor, and forget about ebay policing itself. Dan

Now you're splitting atoms though. What if someone who is not familiar with GS's is genuinely interested in the car? Are they allowed to be deceived just because they're not familiar with Buicks? If he's not telling the full truth, he is being misleading. IMHO of course. I never understood why people don't list VIN's. Or should I say, I do understand, but it doesn't surprise me and it IS misleading to call it one thing when it obviously isn't that.
