wheelz best I can do for now is pictures of what I think is a 67 Muncie shifter from a 67 GS 400, the handle is not correct, it is the Impala one. The long arm facing back mounts to the body. The lower mounts to the cross member. I may get around to mount it to the trans and cross member out of the car, and post more pictures.

crash, is the NOS Hurst your shifter, if it is I sure would like a printed copy of the parts list and install information.

    Thanks Bill

I have one of the Hurst shifters from Crash in my 66 GS and it works great.

Jim, did you have to modify the floor/shifter hump to get the Hurst shifter to fit? The previous owner of my 4 spd car hacked the hump to make it fit. Shifter sit's a little further back than the original.

No, but it may have been modified previously as the shifter I replaced was an Indy. It was installed at a shop.

Jim, was the T10 Hurst you got from Crash a new one? I am looking for parts list and install instructions. I bought one off the board years ago and it is almost new and did not get the mounting plate, and need to know what one to use.

    Thanks Bill.

Walt, thanks for the info. I was wondering if the install instructions with the shifter were any more detail than on line? Looking at the Hurst info, they do not show a shifter for Buick Skylark GS 67/72. 4 speed. What are people using for after market 4 speed shifters. I did see the parts place is selling a Hurst for Buick but did not notice if it was the OEM type with the factory handle or a bolt on handle. Thanks Bill.

    wheelz 'B' is for Buick.

The Parts Place offers the OEM type factory slip on handle 5335 for the 'purists" ... AND they offer a complete aftermarket shifter WITH a bolt on type 5335 shifter as well.

I have a champaign mist 67 GS 400 column shift automatic, white bench interior and am converting to a consolette 4 speed black bucket interior just as I had in college...the car is so purely original I hate to do this in a way as it has no rust and has never had a bolt removed from what I can tell...I said that to say this...

I have a restored consolette, restored black steering wheel, floor shift column but am looking for the correct clutch pedal assembly...could also use a shift boot...any help??

And since I plan to drive this car for the rest of my life (I'm 66 now) I'm going to replace the 4 speed with our Legend Gear and Transmission 5 speed (sales manager), will use a 4 speed shift ball...will still look original...

If it helps I live close to and am friends with The Loon (John Loony)...thanks for any help...Bruce Kepley, 704-907-6495...

Update, October 16, 2014: DONE!! Found out many things through the conversion....(1) planning and purchasing parts beforehand really helped. And Marvin Shive is THE 67 GS reference. Parts and advice, thanks Marvin!...(2) 1967 GTO pedals are the exact same as 67 Buick GS and are easy to find already restored...(3) A badly cracked 67 deluxe GS steering wheel can be restored by plastic welding, filling and sanding...be prepared to spend some time...(4) the Legend Gear Transmission is unbelievable...you need to drive a buddy's car with one...if you have an automatic it's not nearly the job I had envisioned...(5) Use a new driveshaft made for a 67 GTO (same dimensions), 200 bucks new...(6) You can use a 67 Olds, Pontiac or Buick A-body bell housing...(7) minor modification to the 67 Buick cross member only...I even replaced my steering column with a correct steering column, changed bench seats from white to black buckets, changed interior to black, detailed the engine, new grille, restored trim....RESULT: wow!!!...ask John Looney (the Loon), he's driven it...

    i hate to throw a wrench in it..but 67 is 67

67 pedals,Buick Olds and Pontiac work..67 chevelle is chevelle..

they bolt in on BOP..on chevelle..it uses a pin and clip..

67 is 67...Im not syaing you couldnt force the others in there from 67 up, but in 67 everything is factory unique for 67 because of the first year collapsable column..and its over engineered....i have multiples of each..64 to 72

64 pedals are specific...65-66 interchanges...67 specific..68-72 so close its hard to tell unless side by side...

then theres the plate that the rod goes thru on the cowl..64-66 are very close 67 is 67..68 is 68 and 69 up are so close they appear to be the same, just a few diff markings.

67 Buick Olds Pontiac columns interchange...67 chevelle is 67 chevelle

every year bell housing is part coded too..64 is very unique..no inspection cover...65-72 each has a specific part number...and you can see that part number from the top of the fender looking down..i have those numbers too

then theres z-bars...and you just need a 67-70 BBB...some cutlass too

all the aftermarket shifters that are supposed to be right are wrong too generic..the 67 shifter is going to be the hardest to get..

heck i have 2 or 3 sets of pedals, column and firewall plate and bell housing..so..not hard to get really..but took 30 years to collect it....and i pursue stick shift stuff hard

everything is pretty simple to convert a automatic to a stick car,all you need is the pedals, change the plate on the firewall for rod to go through,u need the z-bar and linkages obviously and you will need to weld an extension bracket on the crossmember mounting location on the frame because the automatic tabs are further rearward cause th-400 is longer than a Muncie, you can use same crossmember, the 67-up GTO pedals are the same as 67 GS i know cause I've used them in the past only thing different is a tab thats welded on them that you can remove, chevelle pedals will not fit,has to be 67 and up GTO pedals, maybe even cutlass but not sure.then you need to cut the floor for shifter, change the speedo cable cause i think auto is longer or vice versa, shorten driveshaft also.

look at the tab sticking out on the left on the clutch pedal, thats what needs to get cut, other than that the pedal is the same as 67.
