Brings back memories of my yute... 1966 BUICK WILDCAT GEORGE BARRIS CUSTOM AMT PLASTIC MODEL CAR KIT 1/25 https://www.ebay.com/itm/1966-BUICK...745431?hash=item2390c5ebd7:g:QGMAAOSwIFtZ65Jy
I tried that with the reissue I bought, and in order to make it look convincing it needed a lot of work, because the trunk lid on the real convertible is actually a totally different shape and size, it's the same as the 4 door hardtop or sedan. I tried to build my Electra, ended up using a lot of sheet plastic and remade the entire back end, - it looked stupid so I let some local kids in the neighbourhood firecracker it.
Wonder if the trunk lid on my vert is not correct for the car. I know one of the previous owners replaced it. It dont look or fit quite right.
I'm not sure if there is a subtle difference between the 4 door sedan and the 4 door hardtop, I believe they should take the same lid, but it will be the same lid or very close to what they put on the convertible. There's no way a 2 door hardtop or post sedan would fit; the roofline is entirely different and the trunk lid is longer and more square in the back.
Good to know. I have a spare lid that was removed from a 2 door coupe that donated its 1/4 panels for the convertible future restoration.
