I'm gettin' ready to drop my 455/th400 into my 66 skylark... Have the frame adapter pads in and am almost ready to go. I do have a question about the tranny crossmember position... When I pulled the TH350 that was in there I noticed that there are 4 bolt holes under there for the crossmember. Is that how many holes are in there from the factory? Should I be able to slide the crossmember back to the rear-most position to fit the TH400? Or will I need to go even further back.

    Thanks!

    holes

hello , to put a 400 turbo in a 66 -67 that didnt come out with one, ya'll have to drill new holes . mount it to the trans and run a tape measure to be sure of it being straight then mark and center punch . be careful drilling because shavings can fly( watch your eyes drilling up) if ya can find a x-memeber that bolts directly to the frame ( some gm's in the late sixties didnt use those damn rubber mounts) it will be easier, and stronger ,to mount.its early , but i remember that day well-steve

Cool, thanks for the tips! I was hoping the th400 was the same length as my th350... but I guess drilling new holes shouldn't be that bad..

    Thanks!
