Does anybody have, or know of, a 64 or 65 Special wagon for sale(flatroof)? I have seen one or two in the North-west but I live in South-west Florida and shipping from Oregon or Idaho is too expensive. I saw one in Arizona (not running) recently but again, shipping was too expensive.:eek2:
I was hoping to find one in GA or the Carolinas. I was looking to spend as little as possible but would prefer no "Rustbuckets". And I prefer that it runs & drives.
I hope that I'm not asking for too much but any help would be appreciated.:TU:
    Thanks, Jeff

    Thanks for the lead Jim.
That guy sent me some photos last week and it's a "rust bucket" and really beat up. I showed the pics to Wheelz and he agreed. Also the guy's a little delusional about what its worth.

I was hoping that someone might have one in thier barn that they had forgotten and needed to clean out the barn. I, of course, also fantasized that it was in pristine condition, fully loaded with options and drivable with 20,000 miles.

:Do No: Well, a guy can dream!!! :Do No:

    Thanks again,

    Thanks Andrew,
Casper, Wyoming is 2200 miles from me and I think the shipping (non-op) will be astronomical; but I'll call him this week, anyway.
When did you last speak with him? Did he say why the front clip was off?
    Thanks again,

Right. I'm not sure if $2495 is delusional, I would buy it now if I were in the market. I got a soft spot for a 3 on the tree though. Good luck.

Allright maybe delusional was a little harsh, and Glenn (the seller) seemed like a really nice guy. However I'm sure that I could easily spend another $2500 on parts and bodywork.

I, too, have a soft spot for a stick shift and no options. The only option this one has is an AM radio.

Maybe I'm delusional for thinking that I could find something better for less $. But I have seen several on e-Bay and Craigs-list in better shape for under $4000. I'm going to be patient.

BTW Ted, I've "lusted" after you car for some time, now. Bright Red could easily be my favorite color.:TU:

P.S. Glenn also has a Wildcat Convertible for sale.

Well, I would except for two reasons.

First, its a "Sky Wagon" and I prefer a "Flat-top" (not a huge problem).

Second, (and most important) I can't get her to answer the phone or return any of my calls.

Other than that, I woulda done done it. Capeesh? :Dou:

I have plans to go by and visit next time I'm in VA. :TU:

    I CAN HELP!!!

First...gimme her number and I'll caller ferya.
Second: about that "flat top" ya want...I attended school with "Tim, the TOOLMAN Taylor" In West Bloomfield Hills MI, and I remember he owes me a favor..so I'll have him arrange an 8000lb beam and get him do a show about dropping a beam on the wagon, MAKING it a flat top for you! :moonu: Seee...how simple it would be! :beers2:
Yea, you're a good friend and I would do that for you! :TU: Wheelz, Tampa Bay

I have a 65 flat-top, two barrel 300, three on the tree. No power anything or AC, but it does have a radio. Needs complete restore, has rust at the rear windows, windshield (surprise), door bottoms, and floor on passenger side front area. Floors are actually in good shape other than that one area. Over all the car is straight with some filler in one rear quarter starting to crack, same with a spot in a front fender. Car ran when parked a year or two ago, but my dog ate the brake and fuel lines and some of the wiring. I am planning on making it into a BuCamino in the next year or so, but if you really wanted it I could find the rear clip somewhere that would give me the same parts I need. Oh, by the way, I live about 75 miles from the Pacific Ocean in northern California, so I doubt if it is worth transporting the car to Florida.

    '64-'65 production numbers: http://buicks.net/years/64.shtml

    '64 special--- 6,270
    '64 deluxe--- 9,467
    '65 special--- 6,544
    '65 deluxe--- 10,800

i have to tell you all that i am very happy to have one of these wagons. being somewhat of a utility vehicle and the lower model to the sport wagon i wonder how many of these are left? i think the biggest struggle will be getting the seat covers to look like buick intended. at this point i have the motor back from the shop ready to be assembled.
the pedals, and shifter for the 3 speed installed, new windshield in and a classic mexican blanket for the front seat. future plans include getting a set of factory "soft ray" glass from a 4-door, and a t-5 for the freeway.

How about sharing some pics, Andrew. Also, what engine are you going to use with the t-5 ? :3gears:

I have a set of bucket seats from a 64 Cutlass (needs recovering) that I am keeping in reserve for my wagon. Also, I have been parting out a 71 Skylark that has front disc brakes that I'm saving for a wagon. I have a sbb-350 and a bbb-455 and 2 t-400's. And if all else fails, Wheelz has a complete running 310 / t-300 drivetrain from a 65 4-door that would drop right in.

I don't really need another project, but 65 was the year I graduated from high school and my Dad bought one new that year and I really liked the style.
(BTW: He had promised it to me in 1970 but he passed away and my EVIL Stepmother sold it to keep me from getting it. Sad ,but true story. :ball:  )

I currently have a 65 Chevelle 2-door wagon and have had many other 64 & 65 GM "A-Body" wagons but my heart is set on this kind. I could compromise and buy a "Sky Wagon" but not before I exhaust all attempts to find what I want. :Do No:
