    Ponch,

Too bad you weren't closer. I'd help you tear that car apart. I stripped a car in 2 days by myself last weekend. I'm sure that's no record or anything but was quick for me.

Brian, I jacked the car up last year under the front crossmember. The Frame stayed on the ground. Is this good or not? Just had my knee P.T.ed. Not too bad, but I had to sign up for 4 more Weeks. Bummer. I used to heal up a lot faster. What happened? I don't think the Hair changing color has anything to do with it does it?

So true unfortunately - we are in these Buicks because we love them and they are different -but as we all know that comes at a cost . Most owners dont buy Buicks to necessarily make a buck after all is said and done. If someone can make a buck-living off of them then more power to them as it perpetuates the brand and informs people about the models we are all intimate with and will be selling some day in the same marketplace . Unfortunately the "B" word (Buick) means "break even" rather than turning a profit for most of us....... :Do No: J

Soot; You break even!?! How do you go about doing that? That means my run of the mill Skylark should be worth about 20-25 Grand. I don't think i'd be able to find a sucker who would give me that for it. But then again, there's a member on the board here who want's to corner the market on 65 Skylarks. Do you hear me Joe?

YOU JOE!! NAAA! Soot Man, I see you have the 455 installed. I guess you got all the info you needed. I'm still waiting. But i've went from a 455 to a 350'Now I plan on a 425. I had a friend drop off the mount plates and am going to modify some plate steel to fit my needs. I had a post on this. I'm going to post my results and let everyone know what is needed. I've always wanted a GS, but no cash. This will be close enough. I'll need an adapter plate for my 200-4r trans, but i'm going to give it a try. I'm gonna rip into my 425 this Winter and see what I can do. "The Old Guy" and Denny Manner are going to get plenty of questions.

It's funny because people think that I buy them to turn a profit when the true is I lose money over 50 % of the time . My big problem is I always want what I don't have :Do No: . I used to have 7 Buicks around here but down to two . I'm getting married soon and old lady said they must go plus I lost my job. I'm really looking for a 64-65 Skylark convertible in super nice shape . I'm selling my 65 GS this week so I'll have cash to do so . I will put my 65 hardtop up for sale again once I find convertible , I just can't be without one :Brow: . Joe there's a project 65 GS on Sfbayarea craigslist for $ 4500 . Looks like a project and has 64 frontend but said it runs and drives . I jave the pics if you'd like me to forward them . Hope you find what your looking for . Mike

PS , I put the 17 " Boyds and alot of cool stuff on 65 Skylark ( LOOKS AWESOME !!! )

Pics are being sent now . I think it will need a lot of work and rust repair but I know you guys on east coast are willing to deal with more than out here  . It's way up in Redding which is at Oregan border or i'd look for you . I don't think he's the kind of guy that will be real honest so ask for alot more pics and info . Said it was never wreckedbut has 64 frontend :pp Good Luck in your search . Mike

I've been kicking around the idea of selling my 65 GS. Car is out in Ca so I won't be able to get any pics until the end of the month. It is a rust free California car, I have had the car since 1992. Car has never been restored it is a survivor. The car has never had ANY rust, or rust repair, I had the car repainted the original white by a professional body man top is silver(which Is not original) paint is fresh. Car is an original hard top, (never had a vinyl top), has the original red interior seats have been recoverd but everything else is original and intact. Car has the console, with tach(tach still works) original radio is in mint condition and still works etc. Power steering, power breaks, tilt, Auto, non A/C. I don't have the original engine but I do have a correct date code 400/ TH300 in another 65GS that I could instal in that car. It was my first car, and I don't have to sell it, but if the money was right I might let it go.

No problem Im in no hurry either. I live out hear Colorado Springs, and my cars are at my Dad's Buick dealership in Porterville. I will be out there at the end of the month for a wedding. If interested I could put you in touch with my body man he can verify what is underneath the paint. He has his own body shop and does some cars for Stang Aholics.
