Anyone know where I can find a wiring diagram for the headlights? We can hear the switch click under the dash, but no movement of the doors. We tested the motor and it works.

Also, are these cars known for having grounding issues. We think that is part of the problem with the taillights. Any help appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Doug

    Hi Doug,
I know where you can find an answer to ANY question you may have about your `65 Riv and get access to a 25 year collection of factory literature. These can be found when you become a member of the Riviera Owners Association. Internet application and payment to become a member is available at www.rivowners.org Yes, this is a shameless plug for the organization but I feel very strongly the membership cost will represent a super value to you as a `65 owner.
PM me and I`ll provide contact info. Way too much info to be able to type out a comprehensive answer to your question :TU: . It`s much easier to share my knowledge with you via a phone call. Take care, hope to hear from you soon!

Check the limit switches. I think there's relays on the drivers side core support as well (too late tonight, cant think straight).

I can email you a copy of the wiring diagrams but not for a week or two because my brother has the manuals.

    Join the ROA!

    Doug back at ya.....

I have been a member of ROA, and even have the CD that was published a while back (the one with the Red '65 Riv on it). I don't think the diagrams were on that CD.

    A) Check the lowermost relay on the inner fender behind the battery for corrosion..
    B) contact ROA as Tom Mooney suggests.

    Hi Doug,
If you have been a member check your Riviews for my contact info, I have been a member of the ROA since inception. Give me a call and I can tell you ANYTHING you need to know about your `65 headlights. By the way, the correct wiring schematic is not in the shop manual. Buick published a 28 page service bulletin which is very thorough and covers the changes the factory made during the production run. Available for the cost of printing and mailing to any ROA member! Hope to hear from you soon Doug,
    Tom Mooney
