I've got some 64 Convertible & 65 HT parts that have been in storage since 1984 that I'm prepping 4 Sale on eBay, (eBay User ID:FirstUpFront). I'll load several pix of what may be a rare factory 2-Piece Radio Bezel Set-UP, the fwd Bezel being for no/AC, yet the Main Dash Frame mounted Bezel is for both AC & no/AC. Included will be a couple pix of what the old stock AM Radio looks like when mounted. I'm willing to separate these for a sale as I'll be doing any way when posting them on eBay. Looking to get somewhere around $150 or best offer for both plus shipping of your choice "cost only". Cheers & Happy New Year to all! Rocco Here's a couple more pix below. One shows what a similar front bezel that is set up for AC looks like mounted up. The other Pic simply shows the common bezel usually seen with a no/AC set up. Thank's & Good Luck with your projects! Rocco
Tell me about it. I've spent several hours Googleing the research on this set up and have not been able to get any hits on the PN. It's been since 1984 that I put it all up in storage and wished I had tagged it if it came out of the 64 Convertible or 65 HT. Thanks to V8Buick though I was able to find the above photo of the w/AC bezel.
I found this for you,it's a '64 convert.Ive never noticed the difference myself, learn sumtin new everday i guessp
I doubt that those 2 piece bezels are all that rare, since I have two sets of them in my basement. They are 64 items. The very bottom one pictured is for a 65.
I believe they were put in cars that were factory prepped for A/C. My 64 HT has that cover along with the apropriate holes for installing the A/c unit in the firewall. All 64 dashes were 2-piece, but many of them had the grille design above the radio too. I suspect that at least all of the Fremont cars were prrepped that way, but it may have been done based on destination (my car was shipped to a dealer in Reno, NV). I would not call it valuable either, just "different."
