I have a 65 gran sport I started restoring 20 years ago, i got as far as frame and drivetrain complete, body is completely redone less paint, so a naked primed shell bolted to the frame. It's been in storage 15 years now, I sold it 2 years ago and just bought it back as purchaser did not do a thing and lost interest, so it never left its storage in my barn. I'm looking to assemble this car, and am looking for ideas relating to a race history theme for this model. Does anyone have info or pictures? Any help and or ideas guys?

I like the C/S one with the whitewalls on front with the big, blackwall tires on the back!

    How 'bout that blue SHANGRI-La...
Huge hood scoop and able to eke out a 15:40 et.
    Awesome!!

It was a different world back then, and a 15:40 was very respectable!

So I’m back in Florida, and my project has made significant progresses since last post. Paints done, front end has been disassembled again and repainted and reassembled, interior painted and heater assembled with new core, OPG has a pretty good deal going on now, so will order my Christmas presents to myself lol! What do you guys think of their products?
I need a steering wheel for this build if anyone has one please contact me please!

Very cool old pictures! The Swanberg Schewe Car was from around Minneapolis. I wonder if there is more info around on it. Good luck with your project!

My wonderful little 65 GS ran 14.60's at a 1/4 mile track across the river (Illinois) from St Louis back in 1975. Super clean car with a 401 with 90 thousand miles and never touched. Had AC, PS, PB full weight and original iron manifolds. Got a few trophy's in stock class. Air conditioned to and from the track.
CHANGES: posi 3.55 rear (vs 3.08 open rear), th400 tranny ( vs th300 2 speed trans), 2.5 " exhaust pipes and mufflers, distributor advance kit soft springs, Non power steering/AC pulleys, were good for 1 tenth, $30 for used soft rubber recapped "slicks".
Swear to god I used high octane 110 Sunoco and cheapest Thony's regular gasoline..... and the ET never changed!
Started at high 15 seconds in the 1/4 mile and dropped to consistent 14.60's.
Daily driver, then x wife totaled it!
Bought 67 GS for $350 and still have it 43 years later.

That is truly funny:D:D Has to be a V6 or 300 inch. Isn't that car a Special?
Still don't know why the needed huge slicks??
