I have been trying to find a set of the correct spring ring battery cables for my '65 GS, and the only thing I can find is a set for a '66 GS that Year One sells. Is the '66 GS just like the '65 where it has the junction point on the horn relay on the fender well that the pos. battery cable goes to? As in are the '66 battery cables the same or very close to the '65 cables? Also, I talked to Letric Limited about spark plug wires. Were they the ones that made the wires for Cars Inc. that had the boots on the end that had a material problem and grounded out the spark? They have the correct wires for $65, but I don't want to buy them if they won't run!

I just called them and they obviously have their listings wrong--they said the 400 engine in a '65 takes a 30" long positive cable--that is about 2 times too long. They also said that the 300 engine takes a 12" long positive cable, and everyone with one of those cars knows that 12" wouldn't get you past the fender well, let alone to the starter! Does anyone know the exact correct length of the battery cables and size of wire used on a '65 GS 401? This place said they would make whatever I wanted if I had the specs.
I believe the '65 and '66 are the same...battery on drivers side with pos. going to bolt on horn relay on inner fender, and negative to the front head bolt. Dan
Chuck--you say you are the original owner of your car. Did it come from the factory with spring ring battery cables? I checked out the website you said and they show spring ring cables for the GS. Someone else has told me now that the '65 GS came with a cable that had a bolt through it that is not available anymore. He also said that someone had a bunch made up some years back and he bought a set, so I am waiting to see a picture of them from him.
