What a stunning survivor. Would love to hear the story behind it. Maybe the BCA has a story on it.

The car looks pretty, I'll give it that much, but I would have preferred to see more pictures of the interior, under hood area and possibly underneath since they have it on a hoist. It has aftermarket A/C (the owner claims it's factory, but it's probably a dealer install) and we have no idea if it even has power windows or anything. (it does have the optional cornering lights) For all we know it's on cranks and a basic bench seat. If a guy is going to ask that much money for an otherwise pretty staid automobile, then he'd better get some decent shots done to help sell it. Otherwise I get the distinct impression he isn't very serious about selling it. I don't really care if he says it has 43,000 miles on it, I'd want to see some evidence before I made the phone call. Because of restoration techniques today, it could easily have 143,000 and no one would know with the pictures provided.
At any rate, if it is the real thing, it's a beautiful car.

Power windows were standard on the 225 ragtops in 64.

That car was at a Buick/Cadillac show I attended this past Saturday. It is a 20 footer for sure. It appears to be all original but not particularly well cared for while in storage. It has a few dings along the sides of it and has paint worn off of the trunk near the back window like it was being used as a shelf. The top is dirty and stained and the plastic rear window is not in great shape. Interior needs detailing but looks okay except for the top of the dash which has two spots that look like something melted on it. Under hood is "as parked" and not detailed at all. I couldn't get a good shot because the hood was only cracked open. Chrome is in good shape and not pitted. Overall a decent original car but not worth anything near $43K IMHO, but i'm no expert.

that's disappointing, those pictures bring its value down substantially

Maybe the owner is just naïve and set the price based upon flawed advice (or failure to acknowledge the flaws with the car). If he continues to hear crickets then he may be willing to listen to a knowledgeable, reasonable offer.

A 40k car should come with 15k cash in the glovebox, flawless paint, interior, and drivetrain.

But that's my perspective as a cheapskate

Now we know why there weren't any other pictures. Thanks for the detective work guys, and thanks for clearing up the options list.

If he says that Eldorado has just been restored, he has more than a few screws loose and I am not talking about the car.

buick.1964.lesabre01.jpg IMO the 64 LeSabre has better styling than the Electra. The Electra has its extra length in the rear quarter and the proportions just don't look quite right to me.

I agree! The '64 Electra ass end always looked too long to me too. It must be the squarish styling that makes it seem that way. I do like it it but I agree the LeSabre looks more proportional on a 2 dr or convertible.
