    Yep, the boxes are worth more than the actual kit sometimes!

    Yes, I thought I bought a 1/24 model of a 69 Firebird Conv and when it got here it was just the box. Re-read the listing, and sure enough, it was for the box and instructions only. Fortunately I only paid $3.50 for it.

    That 64 Malibu kit is north of $200 complete.

    Wow! I have some old model car boxes from the 60s. I have some kits as well. And many already assembled, pre '67.

    I still go to model car swap meets. Some of the old plastic is big dollars these days. The AMT 68 Riviera kit is pretty rare. For the 69 annual kit, they modified the 68 tooling. So the 68 Riv kit was a one issue deal. There's a bazillion 69 kits out there. The box art on the 68 box is all psychedelic too
