Attn: 64 & 65 Skylark owners --- I need to replace my battey tray & hold-down on my '65 Skylark (the bungee cord has got to go!)... I think the hold down hardware (bolt, etc) is reproduced, but the battery tray itself is not available... So what have you guys done? Would a Chevelle battery tray fit? Any other sources for repair parts? Any help is appreciated, Thanks!
The 64-65 battery trays are not reproduced I have found a few in wrecking yards in Montrana and Wyoming. I have one decent one left that i am willing to sell.. 20.00 plus 10.00 for shipping. I will take some pics of it and post if requested
I only have an extra one that is pitted bad and the hold downs you can get reproduced or some people take an original and redip it in a coating from I think Home Depot.
Hi Ed - Do you still need those brake line pics? (Sorry for the delay) What about using a battery tray from a Chevelle -- can these be adapted to fit? I'd prefer to use a more "modern" hold-down like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/68-6...tegoryZ80735QQihZ007QQitemZ170110015135QQrdZ1 So I'm tempted to search for a repro from another make/model
Dan you can get the hold down and the bolt from Cars. I bought one for my 65 GS and it does fit. Thanks Bill.
Ok, I going to buy the bolt and clamp from Cars... Can anyone please post a picture of their battery clamp and bolt installed -- especially where the clamp meets the upper tie bar (where the clamp attacthes to the front of the car) ? The reason why I'm aking for that pic, is my battery is taller than the "loop" where the battery clamp meets the upper tie bar... THANKS
Ponch - I'm interested... Let me know what you have... Still looking for that pic --- see post # 8 :TU:
Ponch, Do you have the radiator cross braces for the 65 you are parting out? I need them for a 65 GS (non a.c.) Thanks, Bruce
heres the one i have. it's solid and only has pitting on the battery side. it's not painted silver it was bead blasted and thats bare metal
Bruce, I have a set of non-AC radiator cross braces if you are interested. Email me at stonesautomotive@juno.com
Dan, If it's not, I'll send you one - free. You've been pretty good to me. I know you've had some other stuff "wanted" lately. Let me know what you're still looking for. Mark
Larkone, how much for your battery tray and what condition is it in if the original guy does not want it? Bruce
