Well... I've been let go from the Air Force as part of the most recent round of reductions in force.

I've decided to consider going back to grad school for a PhD since I'm not getting any younger and my M.S. is getting farther behind me. I'd rather keep them since they are the "numbers matching" units to the car and I've not done so much as to keep from putting it back to stock. However I'm not sure I'm going to have the space to keep the original 425 and ST400 out of my Riviera and the money never hurts. The 425 needs a rebuild (ran hot and low compression on #1) but the ST400 is good. I kept all the linkages and switches so it should be a workable drivetrain for a quick rebuild. How much would it be worth? Right now I'm not putting it on the market but I might need to if I decide to go back to school and garage space is little to none.

    Thanks,

$800-1,000, and it will probably be going into a streetrod.

You should sell your children for medical experiments and KEEP THE NUMBERS-MATCHING CAR PARTS.

    $800/$1,000 Paid $800 for my 401/St-400.

Went through what you are experiencing at the end of the Vietnam war. That was 42 years ago. At the time I was devastated. Looking back it was the best thing that ever happened to me in the military. I went back to school, stayed active in the Reserves, and eventually prospered in my Civil Service career. I emphasize the Reserves because I currently receive a nice retirement from them that supplements my Civil Service retirement and full retired military benefits.

The 64 ST 400 is a one year stand alone non variable pitch trans. It is not as desirable as a 65-66 ST400. I'd say $500 for the package.

Don't sell it. Riv's are going up in value quickly and 425's are getting very hard to get. Keep it, sell other stuff. Good Nailheads are disappearing quickly.

I don't want to sell it but I very well might not have a place to put it... It's a what to ask if it comes to that kind of question.

I bought a '66/425 with an ST-400 connected to it for $500. I'm also in the works for buying a '64/425 that's been completely overhauled for $850. Bored .030 over (431) and all new Bearings. So the prices are all over the place. I'll admit I'm getting a hellofa deal on the 425. It's practically brand new. Aluminum Valve Covers and a Big KB Cam in it. I'll probably sell the cam. I don't really want a window rattling driver car.
