Michael, good for you and hope this is the fix. Hate the overheating issues in the summer.

Ok, here we go. I installed my old rotted/cleaned radiator. Put in a new 160 high flow. After testing the 160 in a pot of water on the burner, it opens up at 180. Car engines have a tendency to run 10 degrees hotter than the open temp of the thermostat. I installed the two new 10 inch push fans at 1750 CFM each. Wired them to ground on the high temp sender. Put in new 50-50 fluid so I would not have to buy distilled water and measure. Started up the old girl and drove her for 150 miles in the 98 degree heat today. Pavement must have been 150 or better. The cooling fans came on once all day for only a few minutes when I shut her off. Running a 16lb cap. Checked the fluid level this evening and she is right at the top of the channels leaving two inches for expansion. I have to say, I have solved the overheat problem and she passed with flying colors. I even let her ilde all day to see what she would do. No leaks, no drips anywhere. I am so proud of her performance today, that I ordered her a new carb and front shocks. LOL.. So now I will have invested over $16k and two months of labor fixing her up. But I feel she is worth it.
