awesome yes I will. Insurance company wants assessor to check it out first before I go buying parts, so as soon as they give me the green light I'll be in touch

Telriv, yep I hear ya, I'm ready to go now. Difference is, they pay versus I pay. If I buy them they won't cover it. They fund the repairer. Not me. so if I buy I need the repairer to basically pay me back, and as yet I don't have a good enough relationship with anyone here to do that (just moved interstate 6 months ago) so I could buy all the parts and be out of pocket, which defeats the purpose of insurance. Sucks but that's how it is here. Fingers crossed it will only be a matter of 10-15 days to get green light

so interesting update, spoke tonight to other driver, He had an older Suzuki 4wd. with a bull bar. At the location his looked undamaged other than some blue paint on the front of his car. I drove away. Frame unbent, but obvious panel damage and rear bumper destroyed. He tells me today he had to be towed. Broken engine mounts, radiator squished, hoses pinched, also appears frame bent on his car and broken steering. Wow...the Buick stood up well. I was stationary, we estimate he hit me at circa 45 KPH or roughly 30 miles per hour

Alrighty, been to a local quality shop, all he wants me to get are taillights (Roy), Bumper (yet to fond one on it's own). some trim pieces and hinges (still hunting them). Have looked at some of the salvage yard cars and emailed the owners. Several have cars that have what I need (Hinges and trim pieces) but none have a bumper. Roy I'll take your taillights. So if anyone knows of a rear bumper shoot me a message. Again a huge huge thank you to everyone for your help.

Repair the quarter, actually it may have to go on the frame rack to pull.
If you replaced the quarter, you'd REALLY be getting into MAJOR welding, blending into the door, and possibly blending into the roof, in other words, VERY involved/intrusive.
A HUUUUGE can of worms on an old car:eek:

I sold Chris my "extra" bumper that I bought a few years back and never got around to using. Easiest long distance transaction ever. Sent me a paypal within an hour of agreeing to buy it. Sent a pickup service to get it, and they will pack and ship it to him. If anyone has the parts he needs, I would highly recommend doing business with him and don't hesitate because of his location (AUS), as he is easier to deal with than most local buyers. I think he still needs the trim pieces????

Thanks Chris, and Roy, you guys have been awesome. Appreciate you being so proactive. Yep still after the trim bits on the back of the rear qtr. I'm flying to Chicago on Sunday and may use a down day to do some hunting. Again thanks gents.
