    Hello:

I want to install my Buick tach free & clear of any factory wiring (with the exception of the white lights wire) in to a 65-7 auto console...

First of all, can that be done?

Blue wire directly to negative(?) side of coil?

    White wire to dash lights?

Do I need to ground this somehow? Attach a wire to back of tachometer or is the case the ground?

    Thanks

I think you've got it right but it has been so long since I did one that I'm gonna open a few manuals and check just to be sure. :bglasses:

I'll report back here later today. :TU:

Yes, you have it right. It gets ground through the console when bolted to floor.
If this is a skylark harness it won't be factory wired for the tach under the hood ,as I remember. Most of the GS engine harness's I've seen have an 18 ga. brown wire that is taped up to the engine harness.

    Tach WORKS!!!!!

    Next question:

I have a Pertronix 40,000 V coil on it, is that going to be a problem?
