Putting the dashboard on the Buchev back together, picking up windfall from the #&*)@!---?% pine trees, then cutting a lot of grass. Starting work on some electric fence to keep our youngest dog from trashing even more screens in our pool enclosure. Putting a safety chain on the fan in the pool cabana so that if the bungee-supported fan falls, it won't knock somebody senseless.

Sprinkler valve replacement; neither leaks now. I hate plumbing. I broke down and bought the most expensive valves at Home Depot thinking that ten years from now I don't wan to do the same job again. Supposed to help the boys (11 total) rewire the trailer for their group-purchased boat. Cows ate the wiring and tarp over the winter! I'll avoid eating any of that meat.

Hosted a huge BBQ for my coin club yesterday. Over 50 people showed up and the steaks were incredible. So was the mess...that's what I was just finishing up today. Send me an address and I'll send you a left over pie, we have about 6 now.

I'm not a serious coin collector. I have a few, but I like quality over quantity. I remember the blue folders that held various coins. The Lincoln penny folder had a removable plug over the place for the 1909 VDB penny that said RARE. My only Lincoln penny in my small collection is a 1909 VDB penny. Don't break into my house to steal it - it's in my safety deposit box and the bank has a hand recognition system. I also have a St. Gaudens $20 gold coin - often called the most beautiful American coin ever - it's in the safety deposit box too. Please - I'm not in any way bragging, a few high-dollar coins are not worth any more then a bunch of lower-dollar coins, and I support the hobby.

Took the Riviera to the big car show here in town Friday night after work but didn't enter (I can't stand looking at the same 300-400 cars for hours on end. I like to drive more and the city cancelled the cruise due to "liability" reasons). Then drove it 45 miles to Hamilton for the air/car show yesterday and beyond about 50 more miles. Man those pilots are NUTS! Crazy what they do....sketchy, sketchy, sketchy.......took apart, sanded, and repainted the passenger side dash panels including the gouged up IMG_20170624_131114_516.jpg IMG_20170625_161928_969.jpg jockey box (glove compartment) this morning. Its 90 degrees now so having a few beers inside and getting ready to light the briquettes on the barbeque.....oh and I watched lots of Barrett Jackson, too.....

Took the 8.1 mile ride to New England Dragway for a Nostalgia event. Nothing newer than '72. Lotsa nice rides, not alot of our Buicks represented. Sourcing molding hardware for my car, a 70 Skylark. Whoda thunk molding hardware would be the hardest parts to find with this one-off year car. Bear in mind I bought the car sans front end and drivetrain...Jim

Took the GS to a car show and drive on Saturday at the Autobahn (Joliet, IL.) Got to drive the South course for 10 laps. What a blast.
Today went to a show in Downers Grove. My son-in-law brought our granddaughter to the show which made the day extremely special.

Took the wife out for a Santa Maria style bbq:D:D

The style of cooking meat (the place we went to specializes in beef) over red oak, on a grate that is raised up and down.

Depending on what you want, cut wise, prices vary but they include the whole nine yards -- relish plate, sides, ice cream and coffee afterwards. It's awesome!!

Ignore the part about it being situated next to a US Superfund site.

Working as usual, only car thing today was I washed the Avalanche here at work. Only drove it because its approaching 95 degrees here in Seattle, and my commuter doesn't have AC. Plus gotta love getting paid to wash that beast. Seems as big as the Queen Elizabeth!

Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

Took the wife's Nova to a car show in our little town Friday. Went to unlock the Nova trunk, when we were leaving, I tried to open the trunk. Key would not turn. Got home and tried to spray lube in the lock. Still frozen. We had to take the back seat out. Used long ratchet extensions and removed the lower latch plate. We purchased a complete new lock set when we got the car. Locks haven't been used that much over the time we've had the car like they would a daily driver. Another case of aftermarket junk. Robbins Lock Shop Monday.
Saturday I went to a huge mud bog truck event. Then a grad party in the late afternoon/evening.
Today wife and I cleaned and reinstalled the back seat in her Nova. We hung rope lighting around the deck. Mowed the lawn. Then a 95th birthday party for a good galfriend.

I got my current GS back all together and on the road running correctly since I bought it back in Nov. 2016. Lots of detailing, exhaust leak fixed, belts all changed, A/C charged and working correctly, grill painted correctly, more engine compartment detailing, blinkers sorted out, big carb issues with running way rich fixed, and new windshield installed and dash detailed along with wipers, my wife and father-in-law help me put the hood back on today. Drove into town and picked up supper with the wife in a fine running A/C 'd muscle car.

Met up with Ken Warner for a local downtown cruise in on Saturday, pretty good turnout as the weather was beautiful. Couple hundred cars I'd guess. Did yard work Sunday morning, then on a whim a buddy stopped by and we hopped in the green car and went to a show at a private high schools festival not far from my house. It was fairly small, 50-60 cars total, but some nice stuff. Also it was neat that there were alot of high school age kids there, many of which had a genuine interest in cars (which you dont see so much of these days). I sat and talked to quite a few of them, answering questions and such. Left there and went to kroger, bought some big fat ribeyes, and went home and grilled them.

Ah yes, the Whitman folders...seen and had a million of them. You're right about quality over quantity; - and the two you quoted are very nice. I do have a VDB 1909 S but I don't have a St. Gaudens, which is probably the nicest coin the US mint ever made. One of my favorites is the 1916-17 Standing Liberty Quarter, - with full nipple of course, kind of an early 20th century "coin porn". Besides fooling around with old Buicks, I'm the president of the Edmonton Numismatic Society. We have an excellent coinage history publication that has won awards in the US as well as up here in Canada, so if you're into history, this might be something to look at. You can find a teaser copy on our website. And yes, note to thieves, there are no coins on the premises, so don't even bother. For those thinking of a career in thieving coins, you're better off stealing Buicks, most coin collections aren't worth the effort to try and unload. Same goes for anyone thinking of investing in old coins; you really have to know what you're doing. The fastest way to make a small fortune in coins is to start off with a bigger one.

Spent a few days at the Grand Canyon and Sedona AZ. Absolutely beautiful country up there, needed a break from the mid 100-teens in the desert.
