You are going to believe this happened, I just bought the 55 and received it Friday off the truck put in my garage and pulled it out Sat to wash and clean up when done started car and pulled in the garage and had no brakes ran into one of my cars and did damage to both , the brake petal is clear up and hard no movement at all its like the petal is froze, jacked up car and looked at the linkage and the master cylinder and power brake booster and there is no movement of the rod moving at the booster. What do any of you think is wrong with the brake system. The reservoir is full of brake fluid.( Please Help)

    Thank you SID

    1) There should be play in the linkage to the booster rod, it should have a return spring on rod at booster. You can disconnect linkage to booster to be sure linkage travels freely from pedal. If there is play and movement of the linkage...........

    2) The booster rod itself may be frozen. Try lubing the input piston rod of the booster.( under the boot)

    3) The rubber brake hoses may be swollen shut. There is one to each front wheel and one that feeds the rear wheels. Had this happen on my '55, would not even bleed. Quite common.

Even if the vacuum booster is failed and not providing boost, you will still have brakes.
