I've got a 535 crank with 3.25" journals, any pitfalls with taking them down to 3.00" to install in a TA block?

    Thanks, Tom

Shaftech in Ohio did one for Dave Mongeon. Sounded pretty simple from what I was told.

I don't know how much meat there is in those cranks......but .250 out of the mains sounds like a lot to cut up out.......would strength start to become an issue after taking that much out?

Is it safe to assume it's an aftermarket forged steel crankshaft? ....... May want to check with the manufacturer to be sure.

If it's a 535 crank it's a more than likely a billet, that was the Mack daddy old school iron block setup

Put in perspective, an iron 454 crank can take 700hp worth of abuse with a 2.75" main.
Many Pontiac 455 cranks were cut down before aftermarket ones became common.
    Those are rarely considered weak.
    They aren't exactly fragile.

We cut our Moldex down to 3" no issues. you also
need to cut down for ford rear main seal also.
Has been running this way since 2013 over 900 hp !
