Im sure this is here somewhere.... I cant find it though.
455 Buick into Regal.... How bout that oil pan.... will it fit? Or do I need to buy some sort of a low profile one?
    What works and what doesn't?

    Thanks!

I had one sitting in a regal frame with some mock up mounts and it cleared I wil try to find a pic. If it dont cut yours out and make a removable cross member.

A stock 455 rear sump pan clears in a 1986 regal.

Turbo-Steve told me that the Buick Rivera's 455 oil pan (like the one in my 1987 Buick Regal) has the hump in a different location ... and that he's surprised that it all fit the chassis with no issues. I had NO clue Buick made different oil pans for the Buick 455 V8.

yes I'm going to race, but I'm doing a pro-touring type build so I would like to track down a baffled pan if possible....

I have noticed if you do oil mods you must have a deeper pan which will fit but if you put a Halo girdle on the block the front of the pan will be deeper. I did not use the pan that I added more room for the Halo and see if it fit so I don't know about that. At least you need 6 qts of oil in the pan. You can achieve this by cutting the deep part of the pan and adding 2 inches to it and welding it back up. Then you need to lengthen the pick up tube to go down in the pan more. I think I am the only one on here that just runs a Halo Girdle by it's self. If you run your car down the 1/4 mile make sure your oil pressure stays around 60-80 all the way.
