Perforated metal instead of screen on the oil pickup? I do not have a good feeling about that. As said...what do you mean by "cast rings"? If they're not moly-filled top rings, you're making a mistake.
I am currently in the process of installing a Msd 6AL on a 1970 Buick skylark that has been swapped from a small block to a 455, I have everything hooked up except the tach wire, what color wire do I need to look for as the whole wiring harness was chopped from previous mechanic working on the car?
Perhaps a moderator will make a new thread for this, instead of tagging-onto someone else's thread. The short answer, is that you should be buying a Genuine GM service manual for your vehicle, which will include the wiring diagrams. I get most of mine on eBay, used, at advantageous prices. I've bought a couple on DVD, and in both cases I've been less-than-thrilled.
Should be a brown wire and you should wire that to the tach output on the box, not to the coil. Having said that, I find it highly unlikely that you will find the correct wire if everything has been hacked up on a 50 year old car.
Super sleeper engine. Great power with such a mild cam. I like it. Done right. I don't know Nick but lots of work went into that build. Congrats. Ray
Nice numbers, I would like to see lower rom number tor the torque, but heck s nice 2800-3200rpm converter and this will be a tire shredding machine with plenty of manors to go to the store
The stock 1970 was too lean . I had a race 750 jetted differently corrected the fuel curve right out . 750s are usally a bit faster reving up
