you are saying that you want to use a 4500 on a 4150 style intake ?
#1 > i would have to say since you have no response's that alot of people choose not to use them for whatever reason .
#2 > i by NO means have any kinda history using 4500's , but , it just so happens at LV this weekend i picked up a nice lookin 1050 dominator with one of those adapters attached to the bottom ( which i am gonna remove ) . just visually it would seem that the neck-down into the 4150 manifold plenum would make a significant reduction in flow , its pretty drastic lookin - and could possibly lead to bad plenum entry problems and maybe distribution problems ? i read recently that one of the run of the mill carb adapters , using a 750 carb , reduces flow by 100-150 cfm .
now if you are saying you want to run a 4150 on a dominator intake all bets are off - that may just act like a spacer . 2 cents !

Well after quite some time I figured it might be a dumb idea just gonna keep looking for a deal on a dominator manifold.

check the usual CL and e-bay venues .
i think i've seen some , guys that just "gotta have" a dominator then realize its too much .
buick availability - not sure about that . right here may be the best bet .
at the swap yesterday ( and its real good sized ) , did not see one buick intake , guy i know ran into a holley V6 intake though .

    Rich-
It's not a dumb idea , it actually works quite well . I looked at many setups on other cars when I was building mine and many have what your talking about. It allegedly inreases port veocity (or something along those lines ) . I went a best of 10.26 at 131 mph in a 3500# car so I'm pleased with the results. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Just gonna keep an eye open during the winter months. I've got the offy setup on it now and people say that doesn't flow well either the adapter has to be somwhat better than that right?

Not familiar with the offy , other than everyone saying it doesn't work . I suppose the adapter would help . but that's strictly a guess .

I was using the 3" adaptor and a 1/2" penolic spacer on top of that. I worked out the sides all the way down to make it all look straight but it was still a little smaller at the bottom than at the top. I did work because I got a KB Cool Runner intake and bought the 1" adaptor and hogged it out and it ran 11.12. Then I added a 1" penolic spacer it was running 10.85 with 100 lbs in the trunk.
The first intake was an SP1 that was for a 4150 which is for sale since I got the Cool Runner.
    Here is some pics.
Someone had knifeged the runner dividers and took so much out of the bottom that they had to seal it up with epoxy.
Always match port your intake to heads.
