I found this site because I have not been able to find what I want on feebay. I have great reviews there if there is any concern..... I'm looking for 401/425 nailhead intakes either a dual quad (not offenhauser) or a even a log style with 6 carbs (triple duece I think people call them?). I may be interested in an 1966 Qjet intake too. I know these are quite a bit different intakes but I'm building a totally custom car with a 425 nailhead and want something different than the standard factory intake and single quadrajet I have now. The engine is the centerpiece of the car and I'd like it spiced up a bit. If you have something to offer I'd appreciate an all in cost or at least a shipping estimate as that can have a dramatic effect on total price. My zip is 98642. Thanks and glad I found this site as I'm sure I'll be having some questions with my 425 or sp400 trans!
He may also make a 3 x 2 intake. Somewhere on here are some head to head tests of Marty's remakes versus the others.
Contact Russ Martin at Centerville Auto. nailheadbuick.com They have made a short final run on 4x2 (Stromberg 97s) and also have (and will have more) 6x2 (Stromberg 97s) . Since they are log intakes, they fit all nailheads.
These aren't cheap . https://www.ebay.com/itm/66-401-425-Buick-Nailhead-4-Barrel-Intake-Manifold-1372113-Q-Jet-Quadrajet-1966/332968619527?hash=item4d8679ee07:g:-30AAOSwgbdcHLEZ&LH_ItemCondition=4
You can get an aluminum 2x4 from EELCO for about that much. They are a copy of the old Edelbrock and are good performers.
Yep. I have one and am going to try the FiTech 2x4 in place of my factory 2x4. If the EELCO and FiTech are not better, then I'll put the factory rig back in place.
Thanks everyone for the help! I ended up with a factory dual quad AND a factory Qjet. Next up will be cast valve covers but I gotta let my wallet catch up a bit
Thanks. I need to replace all my soft lines and fittings with hard lines due to fuel pressure going about 4.5 PSI from carbs to about 60 PSI with the EFI, so I will be doing that this weekend along with swapping the parts and doing wiring. Have all my parts, just need to get on it. Hope to have it running by end of next weekend.
