So on my 70 GS 455 when it's first starting up the is a whine kind of to it.
So it will idle high at first the choke works and there is a whine once I move the shifter to reverse it goes away but once back in drive it comes back.
What's happens if I have the trans cooler lines switched by chance.
    Any ideas . Opinions

After awhile of warming up and driving it goes away.

    Ok Larry
    I'll try the o ring
It didn't make the noise before the summer engine compartment redo
Which I also dropped the trans and did a filter n fluid swap
    Thanks

Come to think of it, the trans in the green car whines a lot too, especially in first. Let me know if the filter replacement works for you Joe, maybe I'll try it to quiet mine down.

I just hope nothing's wrong with the M22-style gears.... :p:cool::D:rolleyes:

Well I finally got to take it apart.
When I pulled the filter down the tube came out as well and the other ring slid right off. 21241.jpeg 21243.jpeg 21245.jpeg

Put two new o rings on that tube, lube it with some Vaseline, and tap it back in the case.. you will know when it seats.
