ok my 400 has 430 69cc big port heads. will they work well on my 455 it has 74-76 big port heads I also have a set of 71 heads casting said they are off a 455 my block is 74 has stock pistons and a 10960702 lunati grind vh33 vh34 110
The 430s will perform slightly better than the 71's and substantially better than the 75/76 heads,..check the 430 heads for cracks between the springs,..and I like to fill the depression between the intake runners
You don't have to ..the 430 rockers will work also,..that's where the hybrid pushrods come in to play
my 455 pushrods are new only about 300 miles on them the motor was put together from someone and they painted the valve springs and paint got in pan and it also had 2 teeth broke off cam that drives the dist. I got it and started disamble it bearings looked good so it did not stop getting oil with the paint trying to clog the oil pump screen got new rod and main bearings on the way. got a set of crome headers and new msd dist. and a street box it also had a 455 performer intake I gave 550 for the engine. I think I got my money worth
