This is a great write up, so thank you JW for your knowledge.
So is there a write up on blue printing/modifying a timing cover?
Any thoughts on the Proform timing cover? And does it need mods?
    Thanks
    Steve

The Proform cover is a copy of the TA Performance cover. The difference is the quality control and machining. I'd trust TA's quality control and machining accuracy over the Chinese cover. Personally, I opted to pay the money for the TA cover knowing it would be put back into making more needed parts for our Buicks. I realize that many have a tighter budget. The internal pump clearances are the most critical to hot oil pressure.

Good article. I thought I had heard that Buick didn't need much on oiling mods. I wish I knew what was or was not done in my engine. It runs out to 6200 and peaks at about 650 hp on spray. About 500 NA. It's on the edge of everything he mentioned in that article.
