That's interesting. It was always my understanding that the one with the hole was a "big block crossmember" used on the T-400 cars. and the 4 speed cars got the small block style. I naturally don't have my 70 here to verify which one I have in mine.
Just a follow up fyi, I went and crawled under the car the other day and my 350 x-member doesn't have the hole in question for the e-brake cable, but I was incorrect on my previous statement concerning routing. Mine was in fact routed above the x-member, not under as I had preciously stated.
was finally able to get it out on the road today. everything worked good. i think i may put the 3.23 rearend in though, i dont think the 3.08 is quite enough gear. of course i had to bang through the gears and even from a 10mph roll it would burn the tires. :3gears: i hope it doesnt get me into trouble:Brow: it has a little bit of a bog so im gonna have to do some carb. work but i have a few 4 speed carbs that i can try since the one thats on the car is set up for the auto.
