This brought back memories...I remember all the street talk around Detroit when Roush built the Big block ford Mustang 11 for Joe Rigerello which was built to be a competitor to the fastest street car in Detroit at that time which was the hemi Challenger of Steve Lusk. I remember seeing Lusk at Milan dragway on a Sunday make one pass through the mufflers as he drove it to Milan. That car carried the front wheels about 60 to 80 feet and ran a 9.70 @ 144 mph...Unreal..

Yeah… I remember Joe and the Woodward timing association people who all raced on the street in Farmington. This would’ve been in the mid 80s. We even got TV coverage when we ran JR limos down the makeshift quarter-mile!

I was sitting in the backseat of a Trans Am owned by Arshag Odabachian racing Joe in the commercial development around 12 mile and Grandriver. Arshag schooled Joe’s Mustang in a big way. Joe wanted a rematch but we didn’t have to prove anything to anybody then.

Not long after that, channel 7 action news got a hold of the location and choppers and the cops showed up to shut us down. There was probably over 1000 people on site the night we had the limo races.
