OK just curious how well the sales are going for these . I am back ordered for two months and keep getting pushback are they that hot of a performance product
They are short a machinist from what I heard. So they may be waiting on enough orders to make a fresh run. They do have a stage 6 big block head they are working on also along with the 350 heads. So they are busy.
ive got a car I bought a few yrs back . a 64 w/350 . looks to be a 70 something smog special . never tried to see if its a runner . but ,has what appears to be a very old t/a stage 1 intake . have these been made for a long time . have they evolved . or is a older one as good as a new one . ?? thnx .
Kenne bell sold the original TA stage 1 manifolds in the 80s . Nothing different on then now that I know of.
thnx , my latest proj. is a 70 lark . 350/2 .with the right carb ,should wake it up quite a bit .anyone know the compression on the 2 barrels ? and are the heads worth rebuild? mtr. runs grt. ,but oil light comes on at idle when warm !!
No difference in 2 barrel and 4 barrel heads. All equal. Bigger valves blended in will net power gains. 2 barrel engine with aftermarket replacement head gasket is 8.2 for 68-74. The 10 to 1 rated engine is only 9.2 compression. I suggest the standard Quadrajet but rebuilt professionally by Quadrajet Power or Everyday Performance. Along with a distributer recurve kit bringing mechanical timing all in by 2600 and being around 30-32 advanced. Chances are low oil pressure is the front cam bearing. TA performance makes a great replacement. Backgrooved helps correct oiling problem. You may need a 4 barrel accelorater cable for the swap. A crower level 3 cam advanced 4 degrees works well in the lower compression engine. Several people have had good luck with it.
grt. info. . I started a new thread , as I shouldn't have highjacked jalopy . but everyone has the same questions , right ! just reading the sticky . its all there as well . anyway , its grt. to have the help of yrs. of combined knowledge on your side . is it possible to replace the cam gearing in the car , or should I plan on removal to do it right ?
