Hi all... long time no see!! Not sure if some of you remember me, giving me all that crucial help to rebuild my 69 350 here in the UK, well, i'm pleased to say the motor is still going strong, not missing a beat!! Could probably do with a little tune up and eventually get that carb dude to sort one out for me instead of the Holley I have, but so far so good.. going well, oil pressure always tip top, temperatures on point.. done about 3k miles on it and its going strong. I come here again as a shout for help with my oil dipstick. I think I had mentioned it previously on my other threads. I'm missing the top part of the tube, and the oil disptick I have has been cut to reflect this missing part. I would like to get the proper setup - the top bit of the tube and the correct length.... I wonder if anyone on here has one they'd be willing to sell? I have a friend going to the US for Christmas and New year and if I'd get that sent to other friend there, it could be brought back in luggage. Over here in the UK is impossible to find such part..... thanks! JP
Can you post a pic? I believe the 68-69 are in the block lick the big block. So there is no tube. I think 71 starts that. But the setup for that is basically same as the 75-87 v6 Rwd
yes it goes on the block. right at the bottom. the first part of the tube goes on the block and end just over the exhaust manifold. then there's a second piece that goes onto that. that's the bit I'm missing.... TA only sells a one piece only at 66 dollars... Can't fit it when the headers are on as there's a bolt behind it... and I really just wanted the top half of it. Someone had posted a photo on my rebuild thread but can't find it...
can't upgrade to that. You cant get to the bolt that holds it to the block without removing the exhaust manifold. I know that, when I put the engine together I bolted them on, then realised I forgot the dipstick.. luckily the engine was still on the stand.
later Ones bolt to a different spot then yours is now. But you can look at this one https://www.ebay.com/itm/1972-Buick...932491?hash=item3d701caccb:g:jx4AAOSwp41bDTbi
Let me look,I might have the bottom of the top that you have.Nudge me a little with a PM,as I tend to forget things.Bruno.
JP, I've got this one, no stick, bottom is pitted but no holes. Top is nice. Not sure exactly what year it is. Old I would say...
I will say I had to bend here and there on my TA dipstick. I would've went original if I could have found one. Not worth the $70 imo.
HI JP, I thought I replied just before the holidays. (See third post above), I can send you top & bottom for $20 plus shipping. I don't have the stick though. Your friend was supposed to be in the states and I had hoped you had an address to ship to over here? Let me know, Mart
Pretty sure 68-70 has not tube and is drilled thru block. As I mentioned in I previous post . Contact ta performance. The v6 stuff will fit 71 and up for sure. And they would have a answer for you.
