I am looking for a 350 manual flywheel for my sons 71 Skylark. I make all my kids drive a stick shift for their first car, that way they can drive anything later in life and have a better understanding of how cars actually operate. Let me know what you have, shipping would be to Utah 84701. Thanks Brent
That might be what I end up doing, but we are putting this car together on a budget so I was hoping to find a good deal. Thanks Brent
That's interesting. Do you have a part number? I searched and searched the parts store, even the older stores as opposed to the chain stores and I came up empty. Not one single listing for Buick 350 stick shift flywheel. I finally found a used one on craigslist, and even that came by accident because I was responding to an ad for a 350 Buick engine, which I bought, including the flywheel. And for the record, it's not for sale at this time.
i found they were available for the sbb when i converted my skylark over to a 4 speed. my local machine shop looked one up for me. i was looking for a bbb unit though. they were able to order one at that time for a sbb pioneer? was the manufacturer i think. I'm sure it is out of production and its old stock laying around..
If you had a part number that would be great. I looked on rockauto and couldn't find anything. Thanks Brent
The Pioneer flywheels are for the Chevy 350.... a different diameter and tooth count than the Buick 350. Buick needs 160 teeth, the Chev ones have 153 or 168 teeth. There are probably hundreds of incorrect listings online that say the chev flywheel fits the Buick. Be careful!!!
Maybe post a wanted add on the international full sized jeep forum because about 90% of the manual 350 buick powered vehicles were 68-71 jeeps. I got a few 350 flywheels from that forum.
350 cars are so much easier to convert than the big blocks. All of the clutch linkage is readily available reproduction and is competitively priced. Its basically the same as a 68-72 442 believe it or not. The only issue you'll have is the block may or may not be drilled for the ball stud and the pilot bushing may need to be machined down to a custom diameter
