Do you still have any sets left? .30 over?

Mike Phillips mentioned a .060" head gasket in an earlier post (addressing someone's desire for 8.5:1 compression ratio).

Where does one find such an animal? The only one I'm aware of is Fel-Pro's .040" thick head gasket.

    Thanks in advance,

Detroit used to have .053 head gaskets and Cometic will make any thickness MLS head gaskets.
I have 2 sets of the 350 pistons left.

I bought a set of Diamonds last month. Sorry I don't have any pictures. Mine were with lower ring grooves to accomodate a possible addition of NOS. With my heads, 0.042 gaskets, a 0.010" deck I should have 10.25:1. I'll be on the dyno about Dec.18. Rods are still the only problem to build a 350 that will rev. I had mine shotpeened, reworked, resized and rebushed and balanced with new capscrew bolts from TA. 6000rpm will still be a stretch for these rods. I just could not pony up $1500 for nice Hersh rods. But I have about $500 into old rods.

But if you went with our Herche Racing Engine rods, your bottom end would no longer be the limiting factor in building your engine!

    Hi Guys,

    Troy....the Herche "The High preformance set -- HP RANGE 600+ /RPM 7500"...

Just how much over 600HP are you willing to say they are good for? My nephew is looking at keeping the max RPM's at around 5500 but going with the twin-turbo set-up for his '83 Regal...:TU:

    Thanks!:)

Bill and others have had stock rods hold up to around 600 hp and 6000 rpms so these rods should be good for MUCH more but I guess we wont know till we try....

    Kerry,
A quick answer... 700-750 HP at 7000 RPM
But, that HP number will go up if your RPM can come down like in your case of 5500 you can be in excess of 750.
This Rod is designed and built specifically to fit this niche market. There are people on this board using these rods and we should be able to get an unbiased opinion if needed.

There is a disclaimer here. YOU MUST DO ALL OF THE OIL MODS REQUIRED FOR HIGH VOLUME OILING. From the Oil pick-up tube through pump, passages and block must be modified for more oiling.

what are the exact dimensions of these rods (i.e length, width, big end dia, pin dia., weight,.. and perhaps the stock 350 pin height in piston)?

    thanks,

    wes

    Re: 350 pistons

    Hi Guys,

My nephew has changed direction by deciding to go with a rebuilt 455 he was able to purchase locally for a fairly good price for his '83 Regal but had bought one of the above 350 sets of pistons and rings from Mike last year and no longer has use for them at this time. They are still on the shelf currently down at AM&P and awaiting shipping direct to whomever purchases them. You can contact Michael Hogue, (my nephew) evenings (after 6pm CST) @ (217)428-0527, $750.00 O.B.O. + shipping (probably about $30.00 according to AM&P). He and Mike Phillips discussed this the other day and I was asked to posted this in Mike's thread. You can also contact Mike P. directly for further details too. I will also post this in the "Parts For Sale" section too....

    Thanks All!:TU:
