    Hey Guys,

I am new to the Buick world! I have a 1969 Buick 350 engine that has a Rochester 2bbl (7040142). The carb has a three (3) inch throttle opening and I need the carb to have a 2 1/2" throttle opening which I understand is a 2-244 carb. The question is I have been told that the 2-244 carb has a smaller mounting base that may not fit my intake. Any suggestions to make this work? Thanks

Bryan, you are in the wrong Forum. I'll ask one of the mods to put it into the small block Forum. Not sure what a 2-244 carburetor is. All of the Rochester 2bbl carbs have the same mounting. The 7040142 is a 1970 Rochester 2GV meant for the Buick 350 in 1970. It has two 1-11/16" throttle bores.

    alec296 i need another buick

I believe the 68-69 did use the smaller 2 barrel.
You can contact quadrajet power and see if he has any cores for rebuilding. I would not suggest a replacement carb from a parts store, it will end up being a combination of incorrect parts .
I believe 2-244 is a tomco rebuild number.
