Anyone have a gasket they can prescribe that’s pretty solid. I seem to have a problem getting my headers to seal but tight. I’ve re torqued three times so far. Thoughts? Heads were ported and milled bugger springs ext. I’m hearing a ticking under that area while driving. During moderate acceleration. Could be valve train but I do t think so.
Use a Stethoscope or a long screwdriver to your ear and pinpoint the sound. If they're new gaskets and you've torqued them 3x, they shouldn't be burned threw yet.
Remflex gaskets come very highly recommended around here. I use them and theyve worked great for me. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/...taZeuqazj42sy1GxFELa1YL4UbBI6dtAaAuNDEALw_wcB
Remflex exhaust gaskets in my 462 with M/T Scavengers......Jim Ya beat me by 60 seconds, good thing this ain't the 1/4 mile.....
I believe I use hooker gaskets the last I remember and I use stage 8 locking bolts and haven't touched them in a long time. Josh
I use stage 8's as well. They have a lock "tab" that clips into place to prevent backing out. Overkill in many cases? Perhaps. But they are pretty slick.
They are expensive but good insurance my .02 here are the 1" long they are nice plated steel link https://www.summitracing.com/parts/stg-8916a These are some 1" ( these are what I have but I don't remember paying $103 for my set granted that's six years ago when I bought them) https://www.summitracing.com/parts/stg-8956 Josh
