Hello , I have a 1968 Skylark with a 350 ci (ST300) 2bbl in my car and I'd like to gather information about converting it to 4bbl I'm looking for an iron original setup. Here are my questions : - Except a 4bbl intake and a 4bbl carburator what else could i need to achieve my conversion ? - Is any 350 engine years of intake would fit on my 68 engine ? - what carbs originally goes there (rochester) ? Or is this any better ? - What about the air cleaner ? If you have any pictures that would help I will apreciate it Thank you
you need an air filter housing for a 4 barrel (bigger opening for the carb) carb linkage is also different same goes for the metal fuel line going to the carb throttle cable go for a rochester quadrajet, buick also used those for their engines go to google and type: 2 barrel to 4 barrel 350 www.v8buick.com useful threads: http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/2-barrel-and-4-barrel-swap.188150/ http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/350-2-barrel-to-4-barrel-swap.261247/ http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/350-2bbl-4bbl-carb.116981/ http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?th...ick-skylark-custom-from-2-bbl-to-4bbl.196626/
I would suggest stock Quadrajet. Correct one for the Buick 350. Stock intake is fine. You will need to modify fuel line or get a reproduction. You may need a 4 barrel accelerator cable. Get a Quadrajet Power or Everyday Performance rebuild if you find a carb that needs work. . You would get better performance with a 350 transmission swap. It’s a direct fit except for getting the downshift cable to mate to the accelerator pedal. But should not be too difficult.
