322 timing set question

Am doing a rebuild on a 322 from my 55 Buick.

In hunting down a quality timing set am wondering if a cam and crank sprocket set from a 401 would work on a 322.

The crank gears are the same part number S276 (Melling and Cloyes) with 19 teeth.
The cam gears for both motors have 38 teeth, and the part number for the 401 is S332.
Timing chain for both is identical TC491.

I know that the 53-56 engines are timed with the sprocket marks roughly in the 3:00-4:00 position lined up with marks on the timing chain 12 teeth apart, and the 57 and up timing gears are lined up with the dots pointed in the 12:00 and 6:00 position pointing at each other.

I was going to line the 401 set up for comparison side by side with the factory 322 set I took off and was hoping someone has already looked at or tried this before I consider a purchase

    thanks

    Ken

Just buy it and compare side by side. Even if you are not sure you can time it like a 401, you can put your own timing marks on the gears (that's what they make dremel tools for). Just be sure to document your modification otherwise you might forget when you get old like me. A future mechanic owner might have a nightmare.
