Dave crawled under the Buick again tonight and it took both of us but we got the accumulator seal replaced. During that dave replaced the shifter linkage gasket, put on the freshly painted trans cover, and orig 350 starter. I had a small performance one on but we thought it was causing a problem with starting the engine. (That would be wrong) New starter does the same thing. When you have the key all the way forward starting the car it drops down to 6 volts but when your backing off the key switch it goes back up to 12 volts. Now we think its the ignition switch. That will be next on the list. Got a few things put on the car tonight during the time Dave was under the car. Washer tank, fluid line, and a few items Bill originally had on the firewall. Just getting little details under the hood so it looks complete and not missing a bunch of stuff. Bit by bit its getting all dressed and ready to bring out to the local cruise in this weekend.

just jump the starter from the 12 volt post to the S terminal on the starter with the key on. if the car starts you know its not the starter. I wouldn't just go replacing parts, just me, you may have a bad wire causing the loss of voltage. need to start troubleshooting.

I’d love to see the attention your car gets at a cruise in. It’s going to be a star!

Thanks Brian, This weekend will be its first time out to a local cruise in that normally has hundreds of cars at the event. It will be interesting to see what people say.

Thanks Dave, Its a awesome GS and but definitely not everyones cup of tea. It amazes me how many people either love it or flat out hate it. Not many in the middle lol

We did that and have put two starters on it. One brand new and one Dave built himself. It is clearly not the starter. We strongly believe its the ignition switch. We had a problem with the voltage not charging but when Dave took apart and cleaned the ignition switch it started charging fine. Dave and I are going to work on it again tonight so we shall see if we can get to the bottom of this issue. Good news is this won't stop me from taking the car to the event this weekend. I can always use a jump wire from the pos side of the batt to the pos side of the coil to get it started.

Dave was a man on a mission. Dave took the starter solenoid apart on the orig starter and found the contacts inside were not getting a good clean connection. After a little cleaning up with some sand paper the Buick is starting and running great.

As if Dave has not done more than enough work on this Buick here he is polishing the paint before we show it later today. Cant wait to see people's reactions to the car.

Thank you Dave for everything you have done. (Dave has done a LOT !!! )

Thank you all for the kind words guys. I love this Buick.

The car did great today. Dave drove his 69 GS and we were joined by his buddy Marty. David drove his 71 Corvette.
The cruise in was a blast and people went nuts over the car. It was amazing to see how many people took pictures of it. We even had people on the highway videoing the car. Lots of thumbs up. It was a lot of fun seeing peoples reactions to the car.
