    Howdy Buick enthusiasts,
So far the weather is looking great. Yey!!! My Oak trees also finally stopped dropping leaves and has lots of green sprouts. More Yey! I've spoken with 2 people who are not on the board. One gentleman is bringing 2 very beautiful 1959 Electra's. Convertible and hardtop. Another guy I met at a car show is bringing a very cool 1957 Century. Mike Jones..... I haven't heard from you. Are you bringing your beautiful car with the Jay Lenno "Big Dog Award?" I hope so!!! Jim and his wife are bringing their beautiful GSX!!! I just heard tonight from a friend of my son, that a guy from the turbo board is bringing a GNX! I sure would love to get a picture of Jim's GSX and the GNX together. The best of the 70's and 80's!!!
The menu is changing a little bit. My son complained that all he did was cook last year. So we're making pulled pork and pulled chicken in big crock pots and everything can be self serve. No, the pulled pork won't be store bought from Walmart. :)> I'm making it myself. Bring whatever sides you like. Cole slaw, potato salad, mac salad, cookies, chips, whatever. Looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones!!!!!

I cannot believe the two local buick meet-ups were scheduled for:
    -- The day I left on a 3-week trip.
-- The day I get back.

Broke the news to the wife that as soon as I get home I want to go to a car meet-up. She was actually cool with it. Good woman right there.

Now the trick is actually getting home.

Christopher... Thanks for the tip! I will certainly look into it.

Ft. Lauderdale Steve... That is a good wife! Good luck on your flight home.

Lake City Steve... What time will you be getting here Friday?

RoseBud68... How could I deny? Slide on down, or over, or up. Where ever you are.

    John and Debbie,

Thanks for hosting the event today. We had a great time, met some wonderful people and of course saw some great cars. Debbie thanks for the alternate route back to Ft Myers, it was soooo much better than route 880 I came over on this morning. 880 is like riding a roller coaster!!! I was home and unloaded by 6:30 tonight. After see the T types today I really think I need one but that would get me kicked out of the house, so probably not going to happen. Thanks again, great meeting all of you.

Too many beautiful GN's putting mine to shame. My car was so upset it broke a belt in a tire on the way home and now doesn't want to leave the driveway until I get it new tires all around. 350k miles and its still a prima donna.

Nice meeting everybody. Fantastic time. Hopefully i'll be there next year with a stepchild!

John, Deb Thanks for the great hospitality. Food was super. Alex, great idea on the pulled pork and chicken no one had to stand over the grille. Super turnout from Nailheads to turbo's. To bad for the couple of showers cause it shut down the burnouts.

So where in the world has John been hiding? I went to Buick Heaven. It was soooo beautiful!!! What a GREAT time my wife and I had hosting the 2nd Annual South Florida Buick Get Together!!! First, I must say thank you to my wife, Debbie, for getting everything ready. She did the shopping, food preparing, and organized me. THANK YOU Babe!!!!!! About the hardest thing I had to do was turn the crock pots off at 2 PM Friday afternoon.
Late Friday afternoon Steve, AKA Briz, and GSFred came over for a pre party. We had a few beers and discussed the next days events. A good time. Thank you two for being awesome friends! Steve trailered his beautiful custom Rivera down to South Florida from the very top of the state. He stayed at a local hotel and came over early Saturday morning to help out.
How did Steve help out? He came over at 9 AM, stopped in front of the house, and did a BIG smokey burnout!!! Good morning neighborhood! :)> Then he backed into the lawn and got out of his car. My son Alex told him this year we are going to have all the cars facing in. The car show is for us, not the neighborhood. With a big smile on his face Steve said, "No problem. I'll just spin her around." He pulled out, did a very nice smokey donut in the street, and pulled in frontwards. Another excellent show! We all set up tables, moved chairs around, set up the food station, and got everything organized. Shortly afterwards BEAUTIFUL Buicks started arriving. I can tell you I met MANY new Buick friends. Many of these people I have texted with, E-mailed, and had phone calls with them, but I have never gotten to meet them. The pleasure was mine!
I wish I had awards to give out, but all I have are kind words.
Long distance award: Steve gets the "long distance" award!!! Thank you for coming so far for what I hope was a great time!
Bumpiest road traveled award: Jim and Retha, from the west coast of Florida, trailered their BEAUTIFUL 1970 GSX to our gathering!!! They may have come in 2nd place for the long distance award, but they win 1st prize for taking the "bumpiest road" over to the east coast!!!
Biggest car award: George and his friend brought two 1959 Buick Electras to our gathering! A red hardtop and a beige convertible. What beautiful cars!!!
Kindest award: One awesome person at our gathering had the misfortune of having car problems when he got here. Steve trailed this very cool guys car about an hour north, and then came back to the party. Buick people are the best!!!!!!!
All in all we had 24 cars and about 40 people attend Saturday's event!!! That was GREAT and way more than last year. I also met 4 new Buick people at a local car show this morning. After showing them the pictures of yesterday's gathering all 4 said they'd be there next year. Awesome! Now for some pictures......
