So after all the work I did to my car...I do not like the ride. Feels like a brick. Don't get me wrong....the handling is GREAT. But when the road gets rough the ride is HARSH.

I just bout a new set of wheels and tires for my Mustang so now I have a brand new set of 235-50-18 Pirelli tires sitting around.

I guess my 2 concerns are:

    1. Will the 235-50-18 fit on a 9.5 inch wide rim?
    2. Do you think there will be rubbing issues?

BTW I removed my inner fenders.

It’s going to be a bit small for. 9.5” wide rim and have a stretched look to it.

I’ve got 285/40/18 on 9.5” wide rims. That equates to 27” tall where the tires you’re talking about is a smidge taller.

Yeah, the sidewalls will be stretched out there pretty far. I've got 235/55R18s on 8.5" wide rims on front and 265/60R18s on 10" wide backs on my F100 and that's about right for a "normal" appearing tire.

No suitable tires in the world (except for noticably deflated ones) are gonna affect your ride more than just a little. You need to address springs and shocks. A softer sway bar will loosen up the ride, too.

But with a heavy live axle in the back and old tech in the geometries up front a nice ride and responsive handling are like water and oil.

235/50-18 is a pretty looking and well proportioned tire profile, though.
