I was giving both those thought earlier this year , and to be quite honest my mind moved in several different directions. But yes Steve I very much agree that both, two steps and restrictor plates do give a solid advantage over other competitors, and since my vision for this class is to make it a racers race and not an equipment competition , two steps and restrictor plates will NOT BE ALLOWED. I will say this should have been made clear by me much earlier, but I'm sure we will agree that unplugging a rpm pill, or pulling a plate will not be a big issue if one wishes to compete. So to anyone that feels like the rug may have been pulled out from them I apologize but these rules as well as the others will be enforced. Any questions I encourage anyone to reach me via email trishieldterra2@gmail.com I won't be competing this year so my only goal will to be make sure everyone and everything goes as planned.
Jim...that is correct. With the new date change, scheduling time away from the family and work has been difficult. But it appears as if things are going to work out and I can get away for a few days to see friends that I only see once a year !!! See you Thursday......and yes.....I will have a spare q-jet with me !!!! Ethan, Thanks for the quick reply. I was just trying to understand what was legal so we could plan accordingly. I will see you in a week.
Yea my wording may have come off as directional, ha but it wasn't , just letting any others reading know where we stand, look forward to seeing you and everyone else as well, I have a very good feeling about this year....
Steve... are you staying at the usual, H.I.E.?? I'll be there Wednesday afternoon. Your dad showing up? We need to catch up!! (and drink up!!) LOL
Thanks for the clarification , although I've already made the necessary changes. See you there and I'm looking forward to getting together with all our friends. this is a fun class. gary
Sounds good Gary, hopefully we can have a 16car field,.. Maybe more who knows, these cars are the ones people wanna see run IMO.
Same format as last year, if your planning on participating this year read the first few post carefully and contact me with any questions or concerns thanks Ethan
Really looking forward to seeing this class run again this fall. I’ll bring my camera and try to do a better job with photos than I did last year. Ethan, if there’s anything I can do to help, just let me know.
Hey Ethan, I think I know the answer, but want to be double sure. Under the "no electronics" rule, I assume an MSD window switch for nitrous activation/deactivation would be allowed, yes?
Looking forward to watching this class again this year. Just to let you know SRE has sponsored almost $1000 to several classes.... GSR being one of them. Even a little something for the first loser of the race..... first pairing/first loser...…… just to make it interesting! LOL
Thank you Steve for supporting these classes. I know I always support those that take an interest in our Nats. Hopefully most will do the same. gary
Quick question about dash pad. Does it have to be stock one? Other than aluminum dash my car would qualify for this class.
