If it extends to windshield and covers holes in the structure completely then yes it's fine, BUT we will be discussing some possible changes for 2019 tightening up on the interior rule will be one of them as will an exterior concern I have. The goal is to keep car count, include as many guys as possible BUT also mold the class into what the majority of the other cars are now and what we Invision GSR cars to be. We are not just an extension of Super 16,...so the class will distance itself from the others as time and car count allows

Rules run guys off, I know that, so it's a fine line.

But yes you sound like you will be ok this year

Be sure to review the rules for 2019 fellas,..remember muffler case length has been changed as well as a couple "appearance" rules.

Read the exhaust rule carefully before going nuts about changing your mufflers,..ha

Steve Schlater and Mike Barbirino will be the stewards of this years GSR,.any and all issues will be handled by them.

IT IS THE RACERS RESPONSIBILITY TO BE WHERE HE NEEDS TO BE,..ITS NOT THIER JOB OR ANYONE ELSE'S TO HOLD YOUR HAND. YOUR FASTEST DIAL IN IS YOUR DIAL IN PERIOD,..IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW MUCH THE WEATHER CHANGES,..OR THIS HAPPENED OR THAT ,..THATS RACING

YOU GUYS HAVE FUN AND I'LL SEE YOU NEXT YEAR

So since the race got rained out,we will be rolling over this yrs pot to next yrs for an even bigger pay out. Hopefully,we will be close to 5k to the winner if the sponsorship's the same as this yr. Can't thank our terrific sponsors enough. We are also pleased to announce that the GS-R class will be running at the Buick Bash event in June at Quaker Raceway in Salem Ohio. Hope to see yous there

Glad all the racers were on board for another event.
we will do our best for a nice payout for this class to make ethan and the racers proud also.
I will be reaching out to sponsors to see what we can do.

Couple question on this class, as we are going to try to make the buick bash and the national maybe if next year allows.

We are putting a ppp airshifter in our car over the winter........is this allowed if I shift it.......I can set it up where I make the air line easy to disconnect.

My door are fiberglass but have door factory panels in place, uses factory handle inside and out.....very much looks factory minus no glass...is this allowed

It sounds like this is a class that requires mufflers of some kind?

Mufflers and exhaust to the diff is a must, air shifter is a no go,and glass doors will need to look steel and have door panels on them. We want this class to resemble street cars not race cars. The rules for the class are on pg 1. Read them very carefully and understand them. Then make the necessary changes to your car if you'd like to run the class.

2019 rules were updated on page one of this thread, post #3
It looks like glass doors would be OK, but some sort of door panel must installed.

Is an air shifter still an airshifter if the air supply is totally disconnected??

Ppp sell the same shift for air and non air it's just an add on solenoid..........but with no air supply it's just a shifter.......

I feel my glass door look close to stk and there is definitely the stk door panel inside so hopefully that shouldn't be an issue, it's easy enough to get some mufflers and turn downs that quickly bolt in place for the weekend.

And I'm not trying to stir the pot or get specialized treatment on the shifter, just want to get thing cleared up and figured out. Is an air shifted capable shifter still an air shifter, if there is no air supply to it and I manually shift it.

I guess I need to get clarification on my valve body too......it will have transbrake in it...........but if not using a button, just footbrake is it ok too.

I would like to be able to run this class if life allows me to come,

My car still retains the stk bench seat, full interior, rear seat, all lights, turn signals, rear package tray, carpet, factory radio, wipers, etc

Just make it clear that the shifter is disconnected
Also i have a transbrake as most of the cars do.
    Just footbrake
If we hear a studder you are eliminated automatically

As long as you have exhaust with muffs to the diff, disconnected the trans brake button, and you manually shift or it shifts automatically off the factory governor you should be fine. Ethan has the final say on all since it is his class. I'm just stepping in and helping him out while he tends to his personal affairs.

Ok sounds good I'm sure he will chime in when he gets time, there is no major rush. I'm not trying the cheat or bend the rules, just if I can do a few things that allow me to run great. If not I'm not setting my car up for just 1 class that I may or may not be able to make it too.

To disconnect the button is no issue.........mine is not on the wheel so it's very easy to see it's being used when I do.

I know I run some footbrake only classes and its never been a problem

3 years ago I ran Thumper in S16 and GSR, disconnected delay box, 2 step and throttle stop. Had muffs on it and was legal. It was a chore making the appropriate changes when the classes were called. Since the rules now state no lettering I'm not meeting the rules any more, same with Scat. So I don't run it any more, its fun though,I like pro tree and run pro tree index classes at home,do very well.

I didnt see the no lettering thing, so assume this is a no go then, I have always kept my stickers to a minimum,

Very attractive and subtle, but better check. Mark Busher removed his lettering prior to the event.

This is a great class with a great group of guys!
I had to remove “Blue Bayou” to run it this year as that was a new rule change for 2019. I really didn’t want to but mine is just vinyl and can be added back pretty easily. It’s a really fun class with a .400 pro tree. Ethan does an awesome job running it and Mike and Steve didn’t skip a beat this year either in Ethan’s absence.

Yep, to echo what Mark said, despite my miserable embarrassing failure when I tried to run in it, it's an awesome group of guys and personally my favorite class to watch. The cars are just flat out sharp hard running machines. I hope to someday get my act (and pos car) in shape and try again. I don't care that I'll get waxed first round, I just want to say I was a part of it. If it's not an astronomical amount of work to make your car legal, I'd highly recommend it. It's a great time, even if you make yourself look like an absolute clown like I did....

Curious from someone who has yet to see it in person. What are the standard times these cars run? Mid 10s? Lower?

Most of the cars are in the 9’s and 10’s but have several others running 11’s and higher. I think Zaffino was the #1 qualifier running 9.50’s this year.
